as far as i'm concerned, Tamworth's is still the worse one from this season...

i'd still rather stand in Southport's open terrace than that brick shed...

Nothing to do with this season but when we were still a league club we used to go to places like The Shay, Field Mill, Bradford Park Avenue, Boothferry Park and Meadow Lane and even Oakwell when there was more grass growing on the away end than there was on the pitch. It used to really annoy us when their supporters could come to BP and have alls the comfort of the Osmond.

i liked chasetoown the freedom to walk and stand where you want tamworth for even if you were stood on the back step you couldn't see the goal line

Eh up mariner ronnie. In your action picture featuring Alan Connell and the away dugout, have you airbrushed out any fans who normally sit in those seats?

That was the pre-season game against Sheff Wednesday when the main stand was shut.

On the topic, think Altrincham has to be up there too. But Tamworth for me.

they had to put sheff wednesday fans in the corner, eventually putting some in the far end of the main stand, so that's why they shut it for us,

Any one of Kettering, Hayes and Yeading, Tamworth and Southport,

Chasetown was simply brilliant. The chairman's pride when he was telling me that he was using the profit from the Town game to build a couple of rows of seats ON TOP of the clubhouse was humbling :o

A non-league away end is a non-league away end to me, usually a couple of steps or a slant. Harking back to the league days Rotherham at the Don Valley has to be head and shoulders above others, truly abysmal.

Although its prob is a nice althetics stadium, Gateshead gets my vote for being totally devoid of atmosphere. Tamworth might have a silly little terrace but I liked it for the craic.

Eastwood Town's ground has been deemed unsatisfactory for The BSP so they cannot win promotion this season.

i might change mine from barrow to wimbledon now, i had a guy with a child stood next to me and it was a farce, he was only small and couldn't see the game, as the steps on the terrace wasn't deep enough he sat him on the rails and a steward came straight over and said he'll have to come off there, to which his father replied 'he can't see the game' and the steward replied 'not my problem is it'!

Not sure whether I remember which was the away end??? Still buy McCain oven chips - the crinkle variety of course!

to be honest, i'm not sure why we were shoved into that corner for, as i was under the impression we were behind one of the goal ends, well thats what the Conference Grounds Guide led me to believe...

Stamford Bridge, v Chesea away, Dec 1983.   The illegitimate IRA murdered some people in Harrods that very day, so extra security searches etc which meant horrible queues getting in, but the facilities were just awful there in pre-Oligarch days.  Open terrace, no catering, no loos that day (maybe security-related) and foul foul wet weather.  The tube station was an overcrowded nightmare too, with gangs of Chelsea thugs lurking -- they had a nasty set in the days when their locals could afford to watch them.

But we won 2 - 3.  Yay.
