It will be a while before I post on here again , just taking my first steps on a very long road to recovery,

Pleased you are alright, depression isn't nice and not many understand it - hope you find the strength to keep going and turn things around. I'm sure the gesture and actions/thoughts of those on here that helped/cared will help you a bit, and should you need to talk, privately, feel free to message anytime - I suffer myself and know where you're at. Keep going and best wishes.

glad your okay and survived the pill overdose.I hope you recover soon .Unfortunately depression is an all to often occurrence nowadays but I like what Nobby Stiles said in his autobiography.Like you he was depressed and tried to commit suicide  but luckily survived. After the incident he said "no matter how bad your problem is ,you have to tackle the f@@@ out of it and never give up"

Well done Pete it takes a lot of courage to come on and thank everybody like you have just done.

The thing is Pete people do not understand depression.
I do because my Father had it, not just because he supported Man City.

Joking apart Pete you look after yourself

I'm so pleased that you are receiving the help you need Pete. We all care about our cyber friends.

Just for information for anyone suffering from depression there is a book called "I had a black dog". It takes a light hearted look at a very serious
subject and there is also a book for anyone living with someone who suffers from this awful illness called "Living with a black dog". Very good books.

BTW it was Winston Churchill who referred to his depression as his Black Dog.

Good luck for the future Pete. Best regards Tiny.

I've never had the privilege of making your acquaintance Pete but as fellow followers of the Mighty Mariners we've all got used to good times and bad times but in this season of inconsistency, the positive outcome we're now hearing about from you, thanks in no small part to a fair few on here, has got to be the best result yet of 2011!

Hope to see you back on your feet and posting here again very soon.... UTM!

Quintus Ennius

'Amicu certus in re incerta cernitur'. This translates from the Latin as 'a sure friend is known when in difficulty'.

A 3rd century BC proverb.

I can't offer advice or other words of wisdom Pete but what I can do is lend you my ear and shoulder to lean on if you need it.  From reading this and other threads Pete, you have a lot of support and that means a lot of people will be there for you when times are tough.  I will look forward to reading your posts again when you are ready.  You are not alone, all the best and a speedy recovery.

The Fishy wouldn`t be the same without Grimsby Pete - that is for sure! Wishing you well and hope to see you posting on this board as soon as you feel up to it again. Hope you will be attending our expected play-off final at the end of the season, and that you will be here for many years to come as Grimsby Town once more returns to former glory.
