With todays departure of Tommy Wright it made me think... thanks for absolutely f#ck all Tommy, what a complete and utter insignificant signing you were for our club, well i could lie the blame solely at his door for our relegation but that would be harsh.

So i would like to propose to the club that the name of Tommy Wright is struck from the club records Room 101 style as he is totally unworthy of being associated with the name of Grimsby Town Football Club.
While you have the tippex out could you also run over the names of;
Peter Beagrie
Terry Barwick
Matt Heywood
Tony Caldwell

your nominations please........

Sorry, as room 101 administrator i wont allow Disco in, one for being known as Disco and two for going in goal that time and giving us all something to laugh about as well as a potential trivia question.

Forbes got his own "original" song, Conlon would be too hard to expunge as there are hundreds of mugs with his face on out there not to mention the bald wigs, the rest can go in though.

Bull played too many times to be considered insignificant, even if he didnt do much apart from foul, Keane made an impact and was too good to be forgotten and therefore not insignificant, the rest are in although i did like Cramb but thats not enough to save him.

Was it not that he goaded the Brighton fans at BP after scoring the goal that sent them down from the old Div 1 (along with ourselves)?

Isaiah Rankin gave the Barnsley fans some shít whilst on loan from them at the time in that Phil Jevons inspired 6-0 mauling.

The Blonde posing get that was Scott 'look at me' McGarvey was bad enough - but the guy we traded him in for - Tony Caldwell - was as bad if not worse. But Adam Buckley was without a shadow of a doubt the worst GTFC player I have seen in all my 58 years of watching Town . His performance away at Man City was the most inept performance I have ever witnessed in a striped shirt. The only trouble with putting him in room 101 would be that his ego would block the doorway and prevent other miscreants from entering- so please keep him til last.

Adam Buckley was by far the worst player I've ever seen anywhere. His set pieces were okay, but apart from that this guy had no talent what so ever. Couldn't pass, couldn't run, couldn't shoot, had noa speed or no ability. Obviously only a "professional" for what 4 years...because his dad is Sir Alan. Hahaha he now plays for Lincoln Moorlands Railway

Rowan was awesome in pre-season for 01/02 and in the early parts of that season. Him and Jevons sent us to the top of the Championship, and it wasn't until he suffered injury after injury that he started to dwindle.  We could of had our very own Michael Owen if he hadn't of suffered so badly.

Just dealing with the ones that i have not noticed before,

Daly...sending off at Scunny, heating up an already volatile atmosphere leading to the Laws chant, probably the day when it was evident we could no longer claim to be the best team in the area....not going in..

Williams made us realise how good other goalies where and also gave us the Wales Last Resort, Wales Wales last Resort chant i so fondly remember from Carlisle away, doesnt make it in

If you 101 Rankin then you lose the 1st spell too so not going in

Thierry Henry stunt double, goal of the season (against wycombe?) and of course a dead cert for the all time gtfc prison 11...not going in

Williams was awful, was the worst regular keeper we've had since Jason Pearcey...there's another one. Sestanovich was okay he just messed things up with his moaning for being a sub and his discipline.

Clive Mendonca for showing us what its like to have a top class striker then leaving (rightly so I must add) us behind, wondering when and if, we will ever have another striker anywhere near his class again... Sometimes in life, its better never to have had, than once had but now lost....

I think he was one of Sir Alan's very first signings. He was highly spoken of by the great one but he was ageing and made a handful of appearances before disappearing into the wilderness. Definitely one for the box.

Bradley Hughes went to Gainsborough according to internet sources, briefly after his release from Town, then went to Ossett Town or Ossett Albion, and a couple of small semi pro teams.. but haven't heard from him for ages.

And John Lukic Jr...according to Football Manager 2007 was signed on as Barnsley's reserve team sub keeper in 06/07...but haven't heard ought since

I don't think I've seen Steve Saunders mentioned. Famous for being the lookalike of Eddie The Eagle at the time. He was pretty clueless but I do remember him scoring 2 in the first 5 minutes at Crewe one season though we ended up drawing 2-2.

have covered some of them before i think but three of the above definately not going in,

Paul Raven; without him i would not have seen one of the funniest injuries ever, he did a backheel during one match and injured himself in the process, hamstring i think, and missed a few games after that because of it. Tickles me to this day.
Reluctant with Mendes as well if for nothing else than his amazing array of multi coloured footwear that brightened all our lives at the time.
Andy Dixon gave every local lad hope of making it as he wasnt even the best player in his class never mind his school so if he got a contract and a couple of seasons then there was hope for every one else.

Significant impact during his time here, coincided with our poor run of form, probably derailed our automatic promotion campaign and therefore has to stay out.
