Good to see Aswad back. Hope he can provide some added attacking impetus!

Definitely good to have a more attacking full back. We thinking 4-3-3?

Guess so. Some sort of 4-3-2-1 Aswad playing is the proviso for moving Neilson into the middle.

Humberside doing their best to build this one up... Playing Pressure Point by Zutons. Can't argue with that.

to be fair, theres nothing to say Oates is the answer, however if we don't play him we'll never know. If anyone can tell us what has happened to Rossy Hannah since we signed him permanently then i'm all ears.

still fancy a cheeky 1-0 but if that's good enough or not remains to be seen

How many times have we seen this? An opposing team, struggling in the league and set up to defend and we can't break them down because we don't have good enough forwards. Same lessons, repeated over and over and over again and still it doesn't change.

Just as on Saturday our game is the only game in the division with no goals. The problem is obvious, if money is available surely we need some emergency meeting and get something done. Crowds will keep dropping, this is just ridiculous.

I stayed away because I expected it as nothing changes. We are a laughing stock. Can somebody out there please take over this club and put some pride back into it

Difficult to express much of an opinion as I wasn't at the match tonight but considering we have Wrexham and Torquay next a 0-0 draw is poor. The performance, according to Humberside, seemed strong but that's worthless if no goals are scored. The frustration continues and Hurst's future looks more and more precarious.

Altrincham have conceded 30 goals this season. Says it all really. Sign a couple of goalscorers pronto or start planning for next season in the conference now.
Posted by: nightrider, October 7, 2014, 9:51pm; Reply: 68
I want to rant at the manager.....
....But whats the point. It seems so easy looking in, sign a couple of strikers - one at least. Get rid of the two that aren't scoring if need be. Every club  in the country wants to sign ljl according to the manager so lets auction him off, earn lots of money & sign another striker. Easy.

When you play one up front to a team like this, and that one is Lennel John Lewis it's no f***ing wonder we can't acore AGAIN. It's a disgrace.
Posted by: MeanwoodMariner, October 7, 2014, 9:55pm; Reply: 71
Hurst has been absolutely ruthless with the defence. Bignot has done reasonably well in the games he's played but after the Torquay & Lincoln games he clearly decided that he was the weak link, brought Parslow in and we've stopped conceding.

I just don't understand the lack of similar speedy action at the other end of the field.  :-/

Those are shockingly bad statistics. Hope J.F. sees them, looks at the ever dwindling attendances, and finally realises that he simply HAS to act now to have even a chance of saving this season. :'(

It's not just a lack of speedy action, he's had all pre-season and 14 weeks of this to sign at least one quality striker and he can't do it. Of course, we should just tolerate this, feel sorry for him and keep him on.

Other positives....Aswad back and in fine form, Magnay back at RB and rampant and a solid defence. A good all round performance missing just one obvious thing.

Any chance of a battle plan being drawn up? All the board in, Hurst, Doig and a suitcase of cash on the table and an exhaustive day spent searching every option. Only some thing along these lines will convince me that this season is being taken seriously.
This club's like a football with a slow puncture.

Robo - Paul Hurst is the last man on earth i'd give a suitcase full of cash to. Can you imagine what'd happen? We'd pay for another big black striker to come in and not score goals, only this time we'd had paid for the flipping privilege.

Well I'm sure York City could find an out of favour defender to help us out.

I just want to see some major movement from the club, something akin to collecting buckets in the Pontoon to keep the club afloat all those years ago, something to get everyone pulling together and to show the board care as much as the fans, because the fans are paying top whack to watch a substandard and almost incomplete group of professionals ply their trade.
Football is all about scoring goals, without goals it's not worth bothering with, as the club are finding out.

It was obvious to me at half time that we were playing a lot of good football on the ground up to the eighteen yard area and then we had no poacher to put the chances away,LJL as usual did his best but is only a huff and puff player and not the fox in the box the game required.

With the ball spending a lot of the time on the floor it was calling out for another striker (two sat on the bench) when they did come on it was too late the players were in desperation mode and both of them as hard as they tried had no effect.

So Pitman injured, Oates no better than Southwell, Hannah having a nightmare season, Arnold not interested and LJL being LJL.  without a proper striker we are going to struggle to make the playoffs.
Something that should have been sorted weeks ago
