Like it or not it's here.

Opening game today 16:00 Qatar v Ecuador.

We play Monday 13:00 against Iran.

What could possibly go wrong.

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

And news.  Benzema out of the World Cup.  Injured in training.  Missing a lot of star players now.

I was asked to name three Qatar players!

I said Jimi Hendrix, George Harrison and Eric Clapton.

It's going to be interesting to see who wins the player of the tournament. For me on natural ability it's between Neymar Jr,Christiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.  Due to 2 out of the 3 ageing and thus slowing down a bit it could be Neymar Jr that gets the award if he turns up. Having said that I've always liked Kylian Mbappe . For me whilst not being as naturally good as the other 3 posseses that blistering pace which makes him so dangerous?.

True though I can't see it this time around.

Its going to be interesting to see how Lionel Messi performs this time around in his 5 th world cup. I would have Messi at his peak better than Christiano Ronaldo and even pushing Pele for the greatest player ever. The way  Messi use  to slice through players was magical.

Record breaking? A few players have played in 5 World Cups down the years.

That would be some lovely optics…

Tax exempt, corrupt, FIFA awarding the Umbro Golden Ball to either the convicted tax evader, the convicted tax evader, the soon to be convicted tax evader or the likely future tax evader.
