I had a quick look on the Crawley website as I wondered what their following might be. The bus is £30 including lunch on the way.

https://www.crawleytownfc.com/tickets/away-matches/

Then the reality of their away support kicked in, it's the minibus, no lunch and still 4 seats to fill it.

"GRIMSBY TOWN – Saturday 8th October 2022 –  We depart at 7.00am and cost is £30.00 for the trip. We are only taking the minibus to this game as we have very few numbers travelling. We have 4 seats available if you want to book on the trip."

It's when you read stories like this that you realise what fantastic support Town get from all travelling fans, both locals and exiles. Something I am sure the team are proud of.

Might be even fewer Crawley fans than we thought as it says the official minibus is aiming to arrive in Doncaster for 2pm

GRIMSBY TOWN – Saturday 8th October 2022 – (if a supporters coach runs) Departing from the Broadfield Stadium at 7.00am – cost is £30.00 which includes a buffet lunch on the way to the game at the Red Hart in Blyth. We will have a comfort/coffee break at the A1M Peterborough services at about 9.45am before arriving at the Red Hart at about 11.30am – we will leave at 1.30pm to arrive at Doncaster for about 2.00pm.

Our away super hasn’t always been this great consistently and whilst we’ve sold out away allocations this year, there hasn’t been the bun fight expected.

It’s unfair to compare them to us too, historically they’ve just been a pub team, a Clee Town, in an area of the country, having visited numerous times with town, where most folk support a London club. It’s great they get regular attendees but if you were comparing them to teams in our league then it would have to be to the likes of Sutton, Harrogate, Stevenage etc…

So, to guess the away fans numbers for Sat, find out the capacity of a minibus.  Deduct the 4 spare seats, and then add one person for a last minute decision to travel.

Going to be our lowest league attendance of the season so far by the looks of it. Crawley bringing one man and his dog whilst tickets in the home end appear to be moving slower than they have done; just one block open in the Osmond with plenty of an availability.

Naturally not winning your home games is going to have some effect (and crowds are still above what has been the norm for the last 20 years), but Saturday really is a great opportunity to break the curse. Crawley are in all sorts of disarray as a club right now; we have to take advantage.

It's Blyth near Worksop, I googled the pub:-

Red Hart Bawtry Rd, Blyth, Worksop S81 8HG
