Is he?

I thought that was Thomas Hitzlsperger.

Doesn't matter, roll on a time when it's not newsworthy or worthy of discussion.

I think Hitzelsperger had retired when he came out. Indeed, it’s a brave and inspirational thing to do; well done to the young man.

Hopefully a big step towards the end of a stigma that should not exist in this day and age. The fact that it remains ‘news’ tells us there is still some way to go.

One day when people stop caring about race, religion, nationality, sexuality and so on over how well they play. Personally don't care what race the players are, what they believe in or who they want to be with. All I want from our players is to show pride in the shirt and give 100% every game.

We should sign him up.

I can just about picture a midfield of Jake Daniels & Coke.

Good for him, times have changed and everyone should recognise this as something that’s just part of every day life.

I'm sure it's estimated that statistically 1 in 10 people are gay. It's shocking that in 2022, he's the first player currently playing in England to come out since Justin Fashanu.

I would like to say that I'm sure the terraces will be kind but I'm not so sure they will which again, is shocking.

Agreed…although I’m sure he’s a bright lad and realised that the sort of scummers who’s make the comments are usually thick as mince and will have forgotten once the season starts…

Fair play to the lad, hopefully he can be a catalyst…
