All I want from a ref is a fair crack of the whip with decision making being fair to both sides.
Not today !!
2 potential penalties not given for shirt pulling and blocking to Pearson were the stand out bad ddcisions.
Credit to the players for hanging in for a draw.
Thought Hunt made a difference after Coke's injury.
If only Souza and Fox could hit inside the goal frame with the amount of their chances today.
Poor start, better run to half time, and definitely the best team.in the 2nd half. Very rusty for a while, but the passing got better as the game went on.
Ready for McAtee to return for the dirty top end harassing to go again.
Return fixture next up !! Different style of ref, please !

He pulls the players together to presumably tell them he’s not having it, then f*cking stands there and tolerates it, more than once, being fully aware of it and looking right at it!!!! It’s either cheating, pathetic weakness or total incompetence.

Unfortunately they were both clueless and statues for most of the game. Felt the ref was conned far too easily at times by Halifax players and he missed things that happened right in front of the linesman with no call from them, just stood there staring into space.

Ref was the usual clownshoe, but we still had enough good situations to win the game. Bit more decisiveness in their penalty area would have negated his terrible showing.

He got what he wanted. 1 To be the center of attraction 2 To get his own highlights package after the game
Both achieved, so he will have a good drive home.
Just a side point, why does football still insist on having a bloke each side of the pitch just running up and down for 90 minutes???
|
| In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions. Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them. GOD |

Don't waste money on lines men, they do intercourse all game after game, no point in having them.

Now I'm no professional referee but I have done my ref course last year (ok last month) and he started off ok in the sense he stopped the play to talk to the players. Once he's done that he's every right to play for a penalty or free kick depending on which is the offender... What really pisses me off is Pearson said even before the corner was taken on 3 seperate occasions what was happening. At that point as a referee you'd watch with the corner of your eye.. Im sorry but there's no way the linesman didn't see Pearson get chucked to the floor before they went and scored. Absolute bottle jobs.. As for me if that's the standard of ref and linesman in the football league I'll be doing Premiership refereeing in no time. flipping hell.

The standard is no better in the Premier League. You obviously didn't see Stuart Attwell's performance at The Emirates on Saturday. If you really aspire to being an Elite PGMOL official, you need to practice running flat out into the penalty area to block a player about to shoot and also, turn a blind eye to a player stamping on the face of an opponent while he's in the floor. It might also help if you move to within 25 miles of Manchester

I remember David Pye once describing Stuart Attwell as "attention seeking" in a Telegraph match report. The same description is by far the most polite to apply to today's official. Just glad we got at least a bit of justice at the death.

I took some consolation in telling the useless tw@t exactly what I thought of him as he squirmed off the pitch. Not big or clever, admittedly, but neither was his performance…

Like everyone else at the game today I thought the ref was atrocious. When I watched the game again on tv having recorded it I thought there was one 50 50 penalty and all the pushing and shoving in the box was what you see on tv every week.

There must be better refs out there who should be promoted and many in this league that it is obvious are not good enough and should be demoted or at the very least given some training to improve there performances. The National League should take responsibility.

Having refereed for a number of years, albeit given it up now, you still retain some idea of the basics.
The referee yesterday was bizarre. Efete went on a run, was tugged, beat the man but lost the ball Becauee of a heavy touch and it was brought back for a foul…decent enough decision. Our front man is wrestled all over the place and gets nothing.
I don’t blame the referee for conceding a goal from our own throw in and the keeper pushing out in to the path of a striker but, you have to wonder what on earth game he was watching at times.

I didn't see the Fox arrest (Main Stand supports) but I also thought he missed an obvious booking for Maguire-Drew in the first half when he lunged at their player from behind after losing the ball on the edge of the box. Some referees would have sent Waterfall off too. Correct decision to book Waterfall as Efete was next to him fortunately.

I didn't think that was a foul on Efete in real time or on the replay. The Pearson foul was probably a penalty, although that goes on all the time with nothing given. The fact that he spoke to them several times and it still happened is what makes it a worse decision. That one on Fox is unbelievable, he's fouling him constantly for about 10 seconds.

Same kind of offences as when we won the pen against Braintree when Amond stepped up. I think that one was harder to see but the officials were doing their job

I want to see the handball incident after we hit the bar & it bounced out for their left back to then shovel it away with his hand. Never seen a clearer handball from my seat in the Lower Findus & everyone around us appeared to feel the same.

You get a different perspective watching on BT. Replays and commentators views. They agreed that there should be at least one pen for us. The other was not conclusive. In my view anyway.
They thought there was a foul on Efete (which was given). I agree with a comment above that it did look like a foul. 2 of our players could have been treated more severely for cards by another ref.
The ref was very poor. We need to get use to this. At Braintree we got a pen for holding. In a far more important game. Some you get some you don’t.
In the playoff final against Bristol Rovers the ref said that he did not send off their keeper early on as it would have spoilt the game. We were furious. A similar thing happened when Mane was not sent off after 10 seconds against Chelsea this week. A clear red card.
We are not the only victims of very poor refereeing. However, we do benefit sometimes as well.

Agree the ref was shocking but the cheer from those in the lower in the 81st minute when the lino put has flag up tells you how bad he was, wonder what they think when they watch that back?

That was a point I made. We had enough good situations to negate the ref's decisions and take the doubt away by scoring goals when we had the chances. We have won and lost games this season with a poor ref in charge, but it's very rare you get a good one.
