Nathan Arnold and Amond shared a house down Park Street, owned by someone attached to the club. Can never understand why they didn't extend their stays here!?!?!

Yep, you're right Swin, he did. We used to pick his son John up to play Sunday League at Fulstow.

Really? Have you never browsed the Fishy around a transfer window? Those two not staying sit high on John Fenty’s charge sheet M’Lord.

Dave Worthington also lived near George Higgins in Beacon Court. Not sure if it was a company house.

Dave used to sell ice creams in the summer !

Park View.

Thank you very much and you are of course correct. I haven't been down there for quite a few years and couldn't visualise it. I used to rent a shop from Bill Carr and went to see him there once and I seem to remember it being a bit of a builder's yard.

He was a lovely man who rented me the shop at a very good price, which was a blessing when my business was struggling.

Glad you popped in and enjoyed it - closed until Tuesday because of covid/holidays/time with family but at some point this week whilst I’m still in iso I’ll be working on the next theme. Then just after the 8th lots of what’s in there will change.

As others have said club houses were around Queen Mary Ave, Brereton Ave and Harrington St. Nath live a few doors down from me when on Park St. Only bother he ever had has young kids knocking on the door to see him 😂

Just before Christmas I was trawling the shops in Freshney Place when I happened upon the new GTFC Reminiscence Hub.

To give myself 10 minutes off from the drudgery I nipped in to have a quick skwizz around and found myself reading EVERYTHING on the displays. Very interesting and learned a lot.

But one thing that did catch my eye, which I never knew, was a photo of a house that GTFC owned in Cleethorpes, maybe there were several others too, but during the years 1951-1954 it was the home of Bill Shankly. It was, and still is, number 16 Campden Crescent.

Who knew? Does anyone know of any other 'club houses' that have been owned by GTFC over the years?

Ive got a photo of it, but I cant remember how to add photos in this post. Has the option been removed?

Can never understand why over the years those houses behind the main stand have not been snatched up by the club for players accommodation or renting out would have been the answer to end our land locking of the ground
