Hurst still expects the Stockport game to go ahead though.

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

Might as well play it, even if it means putting the youth team in, if it gets McAtee back a game quicker

Let's hope those affected are double vaxxed or they could be out for yonks.

Just what I was thinking. If the game is called off (which will probably mean we forfeit the tie) it'll mean an extra game on the sidelines for McAtee. The result of this game isn't massively over important, so just play the youths if we have to. Not too sure what we'll do about Tuesday's game though.

Likely to be the last game for a couple of months, I expect. All the players ought to come through it fine without any lasting issues but it's going to be all but impossible to train properly when it really hits.

Two issues bang on the horizon; firstly the obvious ones of squads becoming overrun with Covid so that games physically cannot be staged. The second one, more pertinent to our level, is the prospect of playing behind closed doors once again - can the National League do that financially?

I do think we’ll emerge from this wave more quickly and more emphatically than we have previous ones, so I don’t see another long-term period whereby games would have to be staged without fans. But, logistically speaking, can you pause the season for a couple of months? It certainly won’t work at the top-level in what is a World Cup year next year, albeit in December.

Absolute nonsense, we've got vaccines and boosters.

Yes but no compulsion to have them.

Oh obviously, but I'd rather we didn't shutdown society again just to cater to a small subset of the population who are too stubborn to follow the scientific and medical consensus on vaccinations. If it keeps pubs open and football going i'm fully onboard the vaccination passport bandwagon.
