So, its no surprise that as a technology entrepreneur, Jason Stockwood is all over Twitter, and he enjoys giving his opinions.

He’s taken to giving his opinions on our games, results, and performances. Personally I don’t think that’s going to end well. It’s already sparking criticism and conjecture, with fans suggesting that he must have been watching another game, plus other comments.

What’s your thoughts on a Chairnan and part club owner commenting on Twitter like this. What happens when, perhaps as it should have done by now, he should be making honest comments that our form and performances aren’t good enough if he’s got something to say on there?  And what can that do to the relationship between Chairman and owner, be that Paul or any future manager?

Personally I don’t think it’s a healthy idea or situation and I think it will create a problem for Jason. Whether he likes it or not, he’s now more than just a fan.

Completely agree. He's going to try and defend things and we all know how well that went down with the last guy. At least he's got some good will to live off. But with current form I doubt there's a whole lot of it about.

Could be worse, he could be píssed out his box, posting on here in the early hours under a pseudonym, offering to meet people in the boardroom, having criticising deleted off here and threatening legal action against anyone he didn’t like.

Mad how it’s you two pillocks having a go at him when the person you backed would post drunk up balderdash on here instead.

I don’t necessarily agree with JS comments on the performance but it’s down to him, the comments he’s got back all seem relatively reasonable bar 1 or 2.

What a small minded post posted by a small minded person, it's Sunday morning take your dog out to the news agent buy your right wing rag with your copy of Asian Babes hidden away in it go home and spend the day doing what you know most about.

Maybe Jason should just get a couple of [people he doesn't know in the back of his car and slag off all and sundry to get it out of his system........oh hang on not an original idea that is it.

It's great that he's open and on Twitter but having lost 8 of our last 9 games, I don't think tweeting last night was a good idea.

Still, like others have said, he could have been on here 5 wines in provoking us or inviting strangers into his car for his honest thoughts.

On the anniversary of the day the  Alex May affair came out you 2 Fenty apologists start spouting this clap trap!!..
Stockwood is on social media and aired his thoughts on the game, not as an owner but as a fan!...No different to the multiple of threads on twitter by various GTFC fans.

If you’re a public figure I can’t really see how unpleasant communications can be avoided, especially in a position like Jason’s, or the player’s for that matter. That doesn’t sit well with me, but it’s a reality I guess. I hope there isn’t abuse flying about but I expect there is.

Can anyone confirm if he was drunk? Has he been severely recorded? Has he offered people in to the boardroom to have it out? Has he told anyone to shut up? Did he steal a pension fund to buy a pet project?

If the president of the USA can go on Twitter spouting rubbish.

Our chairman can give his honest opinion of a football match.

Yes - just stay off Twitter is a good plan.

I do think that our directors need to appoint Football Auditors ( to be able to justify any
actions that need to be taken against the current management team)
to protect themselves against the decisions that the current management
team are taking - as the directors apparently self profess to have delegated all football decisions to them -  as the Directors are not football people as such - just fans like me.

I am not on Twitter but am aware of what he said.  Not really wise straight after the match ( and a loss).  Better really to post later when raw emotions on both sides are well, not so raw.

The tweet was timed at 17.04, so posted within 10 minutes of the final whistle, maybe a period of reflection might have been wise.

My objection to it is that for a man who is lauded for his communication skills he should sign off with the overworked post-defeat cliché "we go again".

If he speaks after a win he's after reflected glory, if he supports the team after a loss he's out of order, if he says nothing he's hiding, if he says something he should shut up, it really amazes me the crappy complaints that are posted on here, the guys a fan, new to the job, wants to do the best he can for the club and town, has already made all his money so doesn't need to do this at all, all the supporters have to do is get behind the team and eventually the wins will come back, we've got a good manager, the start of a good squad, it takes time to build a side, get behind the team...

Leaders don't hide away when things are going wrong, they stand up and be counted. The easy thing would be to hide, Jason isn't.

Was it really that outrageous what he said, I think it was measured and people are just a little too emotional after a loss.

In terms of his thoughts on the game, he basically said the same things as both Tondeur and Croft did on the radio. Hardly controversial.

I thought there must be another tweet. I saw this and couldn't see anything remotely controversial about it.
As for getting a bad response from sections of the fan base-as he is on twitter anyway he is already getting mentioned in loads of tweets regardless of whether he tweets specifics.

'Kin 'ell, is that it?

Last week it was the price of scotch eggs, this week a perfectly rational post match comment from a fan.

Maybe he was looking for a bit of feedback on progress so far, but forgot that the level of scrutiny in the football business is not like normal life and all he succeeded in doing was opening the door to a room full of sh1t,

A different type of Tweet this time from Jason, with seemingly a different type of tact. But one that is still resulting in criticism from fans

With Wycombemariner telling him that they’ve lost the fans already.

Two things here. Firstly my original post still stands. I don’t think it’s healthy for JS to be all over Twitter. But, my second point remains the same too. That, even though fans got their wish in a change of ownership, it hasn’t changed anything and fans are already turning on the new owners and being critical of them.

It’s an interesting situation. The Paul Hurst Out brigade are at large, bigger than ever. Paul Hurst is Jason and Andrews man, so it’s natural that their frustrations with PH being in office, is essentially a criticism of the owners for putting him there and keeping him there.

I guess that the lesson here is, that it doesn’t matter who the owners are, the fans will always be critical of them and will be fickle, even to whoever they thought were knights on shining horses

Just read the tweet, WycombeMariners reply and the reply to him. Most seem to be uniting together to agree that Wycombe Mariner is a flipping idiot.

Then he's a fucking idiot. Nobody would disagree that the last two months hasn't even been close to being good enough on the pitch but the new owners haven't even been here a year and will undoubtedly make mistakes. Give them time to get it right.

There’s no twisting here, it is what it is.

Some fans are responding with criticism to JS’s Tweets and those instances will grow. He’s not just going to disappear from Tweeting about Town. It’s part of his DNA.

Plus, as long as PH remains, dissatisfaction with the board on that matter will continue.

What you are doing is seizing on a handful of tweets  and suggesting that one thing (criticism now) is the same as another (criticism of the tenure of the previous regime).

The two are not the same, not even close.

I dont think anyone is against our new owners , quite the reverse . But they have to realise and quickly that a football club is about the football first . And fans will only go to see a good team and a team that wins.  Not for a fancy beer or scotch egg etc .Or by seeing 9 players thinking about defending all game.  But i think one thing you have got wrong is letting Hurst have total control of the football side . Its your money that is going to go down the pan if he is not hauled in over the table and told to sort it .. We dont expect championship football , but we do expect a lot better than we have or there was no point in having new owners .

Unless results pick up quickly, things won't be better on the pitch. Without getting a lot more fans through the gate, the extra expenditure on community projects and improving facilities is going to significantly reduce the budget. There's going to be hundreds of thousands of new expenditure a year and with the sustainable mantra, that means less money for the footballing side of things.

It's all great if we kept up the early season form. Now is when we see what the fans really want.

At the end of the day, it’s not about scotch eggs or lots of other good things which have been done over the last 6 months or so.

It’s about Results on the pitch that make fans happy or not. Unless the results improve we are doomed along with the manager.

Interesting. There appears to be a mood shift in the last week or so regarding the importance of results for a football club.

Given the Covid impact on the club in the last few days, I’m surprised we played. Listening to PH interview, I don’t think he wanted to. In turn, this has heaped more pressure on after what was, after all, a pretty unimportant fixture.

Yesterday’s result wouldn’t have mattered if the current direction of travel wasn’t so bad.

I think a large part of us wanting to play was because McAtee was suspended.

Contrary to PH’s beliefs. We are not the only club affected by Covid/injuries. It’s at all clubs and is not a reasonable defence.

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'

At least the owners did that intentionally though. The old owner would have signed scotch eggs instead of Scott Chegg - a 35 goal striker.

Looked to me like the old owners only did things when they were forced to, levelling of the humps, lowering the floodlights etc.

At least the new owners are trying to progress the club.

And not even good Scotch Eggs but those horrible mini things that don't even have proper egg in them. And he'd have told us half drunk at 3am whilst perched on a snooker table and said it was our fault.

So, its no surprise that as a technology entrepreneur, Jason Stockwood is all over Twitter, and he enjoys giving his opinions..

As you seem to be in the know, are all 300 million Twitter users "Technology Entrepreneurs" then or have you just picked one who happens to own a football club?

It's not his belief though is it? I wonder how many managers yesterday having decided on a team on Friday (on the back of some cases of Covid) then had to change tack when more cases came out on Saturday morning.

There’s football clubs all around the country with Covid cases. Some decided to play, some were forced to play and others cancelled. We may or may not have decided to play to get another non McAtee fixture out the way. Who knows? But let’s not make out that it’s just us.

In fairness, PH quite clearly says in his post match interview that its affecting every club. So he's not the one who is using it as a "town only" problem.

Maybe “it is what it is” but it’s quite telling you chose to quote a tweet that in five hours has generated an incredible three likes, rather than all the others calling it out that have over ten times as many, don’t you think?

Covid affects all clubs but not necessarily in the same way. One club could've have 10 Covid players who are all fringe players whereas another club the 10 Covid players could include several automatic first teamers.

Have they got time to get it right? We need new and better players soon as if this run continues into the New Year and we fall further down the League then the calls for Hurst to go will get louder and the pressure will move to the owners as well, then all the tarting up of the gound and scotch eggs will be forgotten.

I think a lot of people on here and on Twitter are mistaking fans wanting Hurst out as some kind of criticism of the owners, which isn’t the case at all.

In fact they probably know that, but it’s a good stick to beat people with and deflect the attention from Hurst

Dear oh dear. I bet if we’d won the game there’d be criticism for clogging our fixture list with “meaningless, tinpot trophy” games.

We’re clearly in a bad run. Some people blame the manager. Maybe rightly so. Some people blame the owners for having improved facilities and better catering available. The latter are clearly irrational. But having a go because Stockwood uses Twitter to try to be positive. FFS Felche Notches, you and your little sidekick Pencil tackle are really desperate for the new regime to fail aren’t you.
