How much would he have cost if we wanted to buy him from Woking?

If it is true, what Woking should have done is retained his registration, which leads me to conclude their manager is exaggerating the truth a little bit.

There are two sides to every story. The truth might be somewhere between the two.

It’s a very risky reason to make up if it’s not true. And it does seem very unlikely they’d be happy to simply release him.
