Love an FA Cup fairytale. Shame Bolton couldn’t quite get it over the line against Stockport’s big bucks.

Amazing from Stockport.  Great play and great character. Money seems to have been well spent. God knows what their previous manager was doing if he couldn't get them playing.

It re emphasises the importance of player investment if we are to get out of this league against sides as good as they were tonight.

Must admit I enjoyed that. If they carry on playing like that they’ll be competing with Chesterfield/ Wrexham for the title.
Investment in the team is key if we could have just one striker with the quality of Madden or Quigley we would be serious contenders.

Aside from having to syphon cash in to Fenty’s pocket still, the only reason they’ve managed to bring those players in is because of massive salaries. Whatever the situation, I wouldn’t be happy (especially if my club had been on its bottom financially recently like them two) with players earning the salaries they’re earning. It’s not a guarantee of anything and actually just ends up with the club being exploited…

It was a decent game but for however good Stockport were, Bolton fell apart and still the highlight was seeing Challinor the girl private being proper mardy Becauee the fans enjoyed themselves…

Whatever you think of Challinor he performed miracles at AFC Fylde and got Hartlepool out of this league without pots of money. By the look of that second half performance last night Stockport will be getting it  together in the fairly near future
Agree with the comments about Quigley, he looks a very good player

Don't know about anyone else on here but Im sending my football cv to Challinor. I've played centre back a few times in my amateur playing career and reckon I could defend better than that 😂

Should be noted that Fylde were pretty big spenders for their level when he was in charge there. Not sure about Hartlepool because that was a very unusual season, to say the least.

You would be better off sending it to Bolton as they were a shambles. One of the Bolton goals in my opinion was down to the goalkeeper dashing out when the centre-half was in control.

Challinor’s win percentage has been outstanding throughout his managerial career. I thought that last night Stockport showed the blend of skill, organisation and team spirit necessary for success. On that evidence, I’d be surprised if they aren’t promoted this season.

Maybe Challinor motivates his team by explaining how he broke someone’s leg. “It’d be a shame if that happened to you in training wouldn’t it” 😉

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.
