I think I’m right in thinking their offences were prior to this season weren’t they? How they were allowed to carry on like they did last year without the point deduction at another clubs expense is quite bad.

Fair play to Rooney btw. He’s done well to get what he has out of quite a bad squad + all the unrest there.

They had a bit of an issue. Mel Morris hadn’t filed any accounts with Companies House for several years so it didn’t give the EFL much to go on.

And they’ve only accepted 9 points now without appealing as the administrator has agreed to take the deal so perspective new owners don’t have to worry about the issue hanging over them & the severity of the potential punishment.

Potential buyers who face the prospect of £60m debts , officially not owning the ground and a L1 club . Oh and then god knows how many £M bankrolling a championship club trying to get to the promised land when they get out of L1( ask Sunderland about that . )
