  Owoeye has joined my local team on loan, and the link says he was at GTFC until the summer. Can't say I've ever heard of him. Can anyone give me any further info please?

Cliff's son Max Hercules will no doubt be playing wide tonight and hoping to assist or score in what has been an impressive season for him (although he still has to score about  300 goals to catch up with Dad!)

made his debut and we've already christened him 'almost' !  Had 5 chances and only made the keeper make 1 save
very pacey, tricky and good touch, but typical Town striker, with a complete inability to finish.

A bit like Luther Miss Hit

Sometimes though raw talent eventually becomes the polished final article...

I worked for a while with Cliff's sister ( in MK ) and used to chat football with her and always wondered if her brother might ever make the step up

I believe at the time ( mid 80s ) that Aylesbury were at the same level we're at now.... or have I got that wrong?

You are correct - AUFC were in the conference in 1988 and were a strong team in the division below for many years under Trevor Gould (Bobby's brother).,
Cliff was an engineer at Antiference at the time, a well paid job, and was also earning very well at The Ducks. Southend and John Beck's cambridge both wanted to sign him, but he turned them down. As he explained , he could've given up his job , signed for them and then broken his leg on the first day of training (plus he didn't want to take the wage cut!)
Cliff still turns up at the games to watch max. Don't know if you knew his wife Jo, but she very sadly died of cancer last year
