I suppose that the fact we've got so many young players in may have an effect. It's understandable that young players with few first team appearances under their belt can blow hot and cold and relying on a few of them to perform well is a bit of a risk. Hunt has dropped right off after starting so well, Bapaga had a slow start, came good but then dropped right off again and it sounds as though Towler struggled today. Revan has made a handful of appearances for us and that's pretty much all his first team experience. Khouri likewise. Sousa is a bit older but it's his first proper professional contract, I believe? He looked almost unplayable at times earlier in the season as well.

I'm guessing that not too many of the other clubs near the top are reliant on so many youngsters coming good.

Completely agree and add that it’s pretty much a new team compared to last season but on the pitch we need the players to start showing a bit of character I think.

The drop in form is very worrying and the obvious shortcomings in the squad have unbelievably  not been addressed, but the one thing that baffles me is the injury situation at the club, is Scannel having a leg transplant? Just what is wrong with him?
short of a major ACL injury what can possibly keep him out for this long, same applies  with Grant and now it seem Wright can manage 20 minutes a month before he is injured again, we must be wasting a fortune in wages for players that are not contributing to the club and if performances are going to fall off a cliff because one key player in McAtee is injured, it could turn into a very long winter.

This is what happens when you mouth off about winning the league after 6 games, and claiming that you are swapping league standings with your fiercest rivals from the league above...................learn to shut up and cross your fingers, we've seen it enough times over the years to not get too cocky too early. Ffsake.

Funny isn't it, since the rumour that Hurst had out his name in the hat for the Stockport job(admittedly that rumour came from here) our firm has been woeful..makes you wonder if there was some truth in that and certain players heard a whisper...there's certainly something wrong in the camp right now, our players performance level has dropped and to me, that's the biggest worry

Don't remember reading the rumour about Hurst applying for the Stockport job, but if true  why the hell would he go there.

He didn't and he wouldn't (Doig wasn't even ready to lie about it) but some crackpot on the Stockport site suggested him as a possibility and maybe it made he feel wanted and taller

Don't think that's the reason for the plunge in form tho'

Yeah it's irrelevant balderdash and he wasn't linked in any way apart from somebody mentioning his name on a forum as somebody they 'could get' if they threw enough money at it. Now some people seem to want to use it as an excuse to beat him. Utterly laughable

According to Wiki the most league games he has played in a season in the past 5 years is 15 so you shouldn't be expecting too much from him.

Performance has dropped because macatee drags everyone else along kicking and screaming to put in better performances by leading by example.
Just shows what little fighting spirit is in the team if one player has such a massive influence on the rest of the team.
We need a player with similar attributes to macatee ASAP to be signed,we can all see it.
In the past under the former regime, lack of funds would be rolled out as a reason we couldn't sign players.
Right now with vastly higher than expected income generated,we should and must delve into the kitty and get someone in.
Any dithering and we'll still be in this god forsaken League this time next year.THE TIME TO ACT IS NOW.

Should have known better than thinking we were doing well. I have never known a club which seems to fall flat on its face all the time. Any good performances/results are an illusion to tempt us into thinking we can rely on the same to continue. We can't!
I can recall some other abysmal performances at Aldershot when both clubs were in the FL but this one tops them all.
Everyone has known the obvious since the summer. WE NEED A STRIKER. We are not going to win anything unless we score some goals. The management needs to tell us why the club has failed to sign someone. Honesty is needed. No good saying the right options are not available etc. There must be options out there that are better than what we have at the moment. Getting out of this league quickly has to be a priority or are we like Norwich? That is not going to bankrupt the club chasing success. Tell us please. I ran out of emotional energy last season in supporting a team that tested the patience of a saint. Another season like the last supporting this yo-yo of a club will kill me.

Let's put things into perspective a little bit.
1. Have we fallen flat on our faces? No, we have lost our last 3 league games. Yes yesterday was an embarrassment. Wealdstone parked the bus and we are laking a player or 2 in the final 3rd to be able to break those types of teams down. Notts County we didnt deserve to loose, we played well, limited them to only 1 or 2 shots on goal, and didnt take the few chances we had. We more than matched them, but again we were lacking that little bit of extra quality in the final 3rd.

2. Yes we do need a good striker and yes we have known this since the summer, but they don't grow on trees, do they? We were in for Tshimanga & the price Boreham Wood had on him was aimed at championship teams. Chesterfield went all in and got him. Maybe we should have gone all in, maybe we did but he chose them over us? It's all well and good saying "there must be options out there better than what we have at the moment" but no matter how big a transfer fee or wages we offer, it's still down to the player to say yes. At the moment the only players we can sign are either free agents (not going to be match fit), Non-league players (nobody in our league is going to sell their best strikers to us are they?). Or loans, Hurst has already said we have been knocked back on several loan players. We need to try and push the boat out in Jan.

3. We are not going to have another season like last season are we? The squad we have now is head and shoulders above last season's squad, even without the extra striker we need. Last season's squad was a bunch of headless Sunday league chickens under the control of a mental blagging has been. If we had that squad this season we would be in the bottom 3 by now.

We are 15 games in, 3rd in the league have 29 points, won 9, drawn 2, lost 4, and scored 28 goals without a "star striker".

In 2015/2016 (the season we went up) After 15 games, we had won 6, drawn 7, and lost 2, and had 25 points with bogle and podge scoring for fun.

Have faith!!
