Well he is definitely is an idiot but the article refers to one player's name he got wrong (maybe just about forgivable...), then some fans got upset because he referred to them as "Plymouth" (and presumably not "Argyle" as they would have liked).

If you're gonna slate him then slate him for sending Town on the road to oblivion not for getting a name wrong.

He couldn't even get that right as we have now turned a corner and heading in the right direction. New owners, a new squad, and a feel-good factor.

In a sarcastic sort of way he was the best thing that happened to the club in near on 20 years. If he had stayed think where we'd be now, probably above Dover and odds on favorites for a local Derby with Boston!

With a special mention for Alex May.

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

I totally agree with you, it was just an after thought that if he had not gone, where would we be now. Would 1878 have taken over or would JF have hung on thinking olloway would turn things round ????

I was merely pointing out what might have happened if he had not resigned. I absolutely detest what Holloway, Fenty and Day have done to this club over the years. Stripped it to the bone.

I thought he left because of the new owners.

As to where we would be, we would still be in this crap League as he was taking us down and Hurst did.

The only possible positive of Hollowords was that he helped confirm the shambles that was the GTFC boardroom.

There was a rumour at the time that Runaway was actually sacked but to maintain his image, he ran with the resignation story. The club was already such a circus by this point so the theory was they let it be.

Forget him. Something weird going on there but maybe we'll never know. Seemed to lose interest and made barmy signings. But in all honesty, he was irrelevant as while JSF was still the owner we were always doomed. Both gone, balderdash to them and let's move forward and try and forget them.

He was never here for footballing reasons, we know that much. Pathological con artist, which tallies rather well with the company the club bigwigs we’re keeping at the time.

We can never forget that bumbling fraud that invaded our club when our confidence was at an all time low, tricking us into thinking and believing that he was the answer to all our problems like a  lunatic sect leader.
Who between him and Fenty were the worst destroyers of the club, my money goes on Fenty(just) because of his previous with us, and without him the Southern clown would not appeared on the scene along with May.
No let's always remember him and use him as a yardstick as how not to accept things as a given in the future

I'm no fan of the flat capped idiot but...

The wheels really seemed to come off after his mate committed suicide, for him personally and us. I think he has been deeply affected by that and needs professional help.

It isn't an excuse for his role in the Fenty/May debacle though.

Holloway I'm not bothered either way about now. I will never forgive Fenty.

He was an embarrassment. But then, many of us on this board were an embarrassment as well. Hands up those who welcomed him initially and thought he was the best thing since sliced bread. My hand is up.
But a few months later we realised that we had been duped and every time IH opened his mouth, we needed an interpreter to work out what he was saying - for example, the long winded interview he gave to Sky Sports News live from the training ground. What on earth was he talking about?

There’s a small pocket of us that fancied it to be a disaster from the start.

He was never here for footballing reasons. You’re hard pushed to find a sensible fan of any of the teams he’s ruined that have a postive word about him. Even Blackpool and Palace fans.

Mans a flipping charlatan…

My hand is also up as one of those that was taken in by the Holloway appointment and hype surrounding it. I appreciate the sentiment around him losing it after his mate died, but the wheels were firmly coming off before that. If I'm right in thinking his mate died partial way into the season, then that goes no distance towards excusing 1 pre season game, the signings he made, VernamGate....

For me, I started to worry when he did a pre season interview and was moaning about Covid, he said something along the lines of 'it feels like we may as well have never started this project', that line worried me immensely. He brought in some decent players the season before and Scunny away will live in my memory forever, but that pre season interview was when I started to become concerned with his interest in getting any kind of job done here.
