Can’t fault the lad and has always had the support of fans but I also wonder if the patience has lasted longer because he’s ‘one of our own’ so to speak?

I don’t blame him, he can’t help it and perhaps of town weren’t a dog and duck team and he was higher up the pyramid they’d have access to better medical facilities etc but perhaps he’s just never gonna be fully fit.

Shame really as I think he’s have an impact this season…

But didn't he have a good run of games while out on loan to Boston?

Surely with proper strength and conditioning coaching, and possibly some specialist help, his fitness can be improved.

He is a fine player when fit and it would be a shame for him and us to give up on him,

There is a romance in football to the idea of the local lad who becomes a star player for his team that supporters tend to cling to, if he wasn't local then people would have been calling for him to be let go ages ago. Not even sure if medical facilities would make a difference at this point, he seems like one of those players who will always have issues staying fit.

Yes he really was a class above at Boston. Playing week in, week out on terrible pitches and the best player on the pitch every week. He was literally dodging two footed tackles and I was so excited to see how he would do for us the following season.

It really is a shame to see what is happening with Max because he's certainly got plenty of talent.

How was he training while at Boston that could explain why his current problems now exist , but did not while he was away?

I'm sure they still train full-time with us when we send them out on loan. They may actually train more because they often train once or twice a week in an evening at the other club too.

In this weeks interview Hurst said Max was running ok, as indeed he was before the Kiddie game when he was scheduled to play till he "felt something. "

We all have things that aren't 100% but still go to work.  Would playing through it be a possibility? It can't be that serious as he keeps returning to training.

Of course you have all the usual caveats that a top level athlete likes to be confident he is 100% but he wont be a pro footballer much longer unless he can find a solution.
