He could have been a very good player for us or maby further up the ladder if he could get and keep fit for more than one game , But am afraid that does not look like it is going to happen  . We like all clubs need players on the pitch not the treatment table . I think this will be his last season as a pro footballer as sadley it cannot just keep going on as it is . Not only for the club but for him as he will end up nearly crippled in some form

Bit early to be writing the kid off as a pro footballer don't you think?

From what I have seen he has been really good when he has played. Probably just needs a bit of body development and looking after to get him to where he needs to be.

When he has played* but doesnt and cant play enough

Max is a great lad, and we all want him to be in and around the squad but im really not sure the club can do anymore for him if your body isnt up to it

There comes a point when a club has to decide if offering a new deal is worthwhile. He's 23 his body isn't going to develop more than it has, have to stop treating him like he's still an 18 year old making his first few appearances. He's not a kid. Same thing happened to Sean Scannell, he got injured when he was 18 and has never been able to shake off injury problems since. He's now on the treatment table at a non league club when he'd be in the championship or a league 1 star if he was fully fit. Max has talent but eventually you're not getting anything from keeping him on and have to move him on, can see him falling into part time football in the future because clearly full time in the pro game is making his injury issues worse.

Didn't realise he was that old, as he looks younger. Yes you may have a point then.

He's 24 in April of next year, yet has made less than 50 appearances for us.

Harry Clifton is two months younger and is nearing 150 appearances.

This is probably even more damning...since the start of the 20/21 season, Wright's played 141 minutes less than Sean Scannell for us.

Genuinely feel for the lad as it's blatantly obvious that he wants it so badly. But get the distinct impression Hurst is losing patience with him, even hinting in recent interviews that he just can't rely on him.

This.

We (sort of) have 4 wide players;  Scannell hasn't been available at all,   Wright has barely been available,  Sousa is unproven at this level, so is a project,  Grant; sort of a wide player, has just returned from injury.   Good job Clifton has filled in so well, so otherwise = ?!?!?
