Like most, I am delighted in the start to this season on and off the pitch.
However, it’s now quite apparent that we are a couple of players short of what’s required. I said at the start of the season Id be happy with the play offs. And that still applies.  But, given the fact we still don’t have an official number 9 ( must be a saving on the wage bill) and the size of the crowds at BP. I will be disappointed if we don’t see some reasonable quality coming in in January.
UTM.

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'

Easy to say.
Do 'reasonable quality' want to come here and are they avaliable??

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

Think that's the crux of the matter. Until January, there isn't the same pool of players to choose from as there will be when the window opens.

Hurst is looking for someone and the directors have said they will back him should the right player/s be identified.

Hopefully that will be sooner, rather than later, but to my mind, the team is still developing and is ongoing. We are ahead of where I thought we would be, but we are having a wobble and there is room for improvement.

We may have to wait until the new year.

Listening to Hurst our strength and conditioning coach hasn't strengthened our players very well, they're falling like flys in training

There are no daggers out  that i have seen , But there are signs that we are not good enough in depth let alone up front and we will say it as it is ,, At this moment you are the only one with a dagger out trying to stop free speach. So look in the mirror

To be honest, we are better off out of the cup to get out of this rag bag league.

It's not over to the owners. All along they have said that funding is or would be available for ANY players that Hurst wanted. What more can they do?

Its upto Hurst to get players in but as it stands nobody of his required standard is available. Hurst has been honest and told us of the numbers of players he has enquired about. Do you want him to do an 'Ollie' and buy any player who will come here? We all know how that ends!

We could win the league with a decent number 9. We might never have a better chance. Compared to the cost of not winning the league. Surely it's worth pushing the boat out?

Agree with everything you say but it still doesn't matter how much the boat is pushed out, it still doesn't mean Hurst will get the player/s he wants. What sort of offer do you want him to make? Double the wages of the next highest? Yes money talks for many players to sign (see Stockport, Wrexham and Chesterfield) but to what degree do you push it to so as not to piiss the other players off.
Its a fine line that Hurst is walking on at the minute. He's damned if he does, damned if he doesn't.

Getting pretty fed up of sanctimonious crap like this.

We would be apoplectic if we’d lost three straight under Hollowords/Fenty. Let’s be honest, performances at Wealdstone and Kiddy have not been at the level we’ve set.

First off, I'm completely behind the new board and Hurst, so it pains me to say this, but let's not beat about the bush, or sugarcoat it, blame the ref, the rub of the green, their keeper, etc...that was very poor.

Admittedly it was my first game of the season so maybe my expectations were too high after the euphoria from our start to the campaign, but that performance was woeful. Did we even have a shot on target first half?

We didn't seem to have a game plan and we were completely toothless up top.

I was there with two neutrals who both thought Kidderminster were the better team.

Depressingly it seemed no better today than it was under Holloway/Jolley. It was embarrassing at times. As were the little kids at the front giving the Kiddy keeper the male masturbator sign throughout the game.

I appreciate we've had some injuries so some changes were forced upon us but it wasn't too long ago we were saying one or two out, another couple can seamlessly come in take their place and do a job.

Losing today is not the end of the world, and may be it will be a silver lining in the long run (I hope) but I can't help thinking what if?

Anyway, if my auntie had a member she'd be my uncle, so onwards. UTM!

We were shot, we’ve had a bad spell if you call it that, we know we could do with another striker…nothing surprising here nor is it new.

It’s not as simple as just signing someone. Remember, we made a fair few quid in the summer that could’ve gone a long way to sign a forward but instead it went in to the pocket of that lifelong GTFC fan who ruined the club…

Hurst won’t sign just anyone and I’m thankful of that. Simply throwing cash or signing any Tom male private or Harry isn’t always the answer…remember Richard Brodie?

Chances are, the less rational are only as drunk off as they are Becauee of the great start we had. Had we had the start most predicted which was bitty and stop star nobody would be that arsed…

Jason and Paul know what the problem is, they know what to do to fix it. Finding the right people to come into the team is not a problem but getting them to sign for us is.

Also, don't forget Chesterfield, Wrexham and Stockport have set the bar high in this league for spending. Many will think all teams have that sort of money, so that is not a good situation when need a striker or two.

All this site does is aim bad vibes towards the club when in reality its in a good place for the first time in decades! Chill we all know whats what but starting threads about the new owners and a manager after a few defeats is ridiculous, it all snowballs from social media. Keep the faith, keep going and keep it town!

Hi John

How did you work out he’s a Fenty? Strange conclusion to come to given his post.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,

I thought it was transfer profit that was paying him off early. I would be disappointed if any transfer kitty wasn’t being bolstered by the increased gate figures.

Yes, I might be wrong but thought the deal was £500k per year for three years, accelerated by incoming transfer fees.

So the £450k received for Pollock, Grist et al, would have already gone to him, leaving £50k to pay by the end of this season.

But is it worth it to sign some "Champagne Charlie Billy Bigbollox" who could disrupt what appears to be a very harmonious and focused dressing room? The player has to be right in so many ways and not just potential scoring ability.

We’re step 5 of English football I wouldn’t have thought we’re close to signing any champagne Charlie’s … but I get your point but every  player is a gamble and if we’re going to challenge we need to gamble so to speak

I was thinking more of a League 1 player nearing the end of a successful career and offering himself to the highest bidder. I know every signing is a gamble but the last thing we need in a harmonious dressing room is some guy with an inflated ego the size of the dock tower making out he is doing us a favour by being here. I trust Hurst's judgement in bringing in the right player but we need to be patient. Of all the players he signed in the summer I don't think there is one who you would think was a bad signing.

I do agree but how long do we leave it? if our poor run contines then we need somebody in ASAP to help us and maybe we need to bite the bullet and take a risk sometime before we end up going another 3 or 4 games without a goal and we find ourselves 8-9 points adrift of top spot.

But who do we get? Are you suggesting getting just somebody to fill the void? I am 100% sure that PH and the owners know the problem. They have already said the funds are available but it is one thing "biteing the bullet" and another thing wasting money on a "maybe".
