What a f@cking stupid thread...mariner501, go get back under your rock...this is football, win some, lose some, draw some, but to intimate "the bubble has burst" is ludicrous at best. We are playing some of the nest football we've witnessed since Buckley's first reign yet you give it biggy big balls because we've lost 2 games..1 of which(today) we completely out played Notts and had more possession against a supposedly possession based team... you've really licked the bottom of the barrel starting this thread...

2 games, 2 losses, 0 goals. Barely a shot on target

Idiot

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

The fully fit 1st 11 side will play to the delight of the fans as they all run and interchange positions, knowing where other players are going and creating gaps for others.

That's why so many different players have scored, and we have 2 forwards with 5 + 6 goals respectively currently losing both together has seriously upset team balance.

Waterfall is now being man marked at corners with no Efete as the alternative target so changes in delivery has not been good.

Until injured players return, Plan B is needed, either changes in formations or additions to the squad for a month.

Patience from the stands needed while the problems are solved !!

Yet sat 2nd in the league 1 point behind top.
Booooo hurst out.

Idiot. We actually played well yesterday and created a handful of half decent chances. They created 1 which took 89 minutes and sadly scored it. excrement happens. We go again. UTM

I don’t think the bubble has burst but clearly obvious when we lose a couple of key players we don’t look the same team. If hursty can find a couple of gems in jan we will be top 3 come may just  not sure if we’ve enough for top spot

I think we have to guard against getting our heads down.  That's the supporters and the club. And we need to lead.  It sounded like the lads worked hard so the defeat is hard to take.  Two loses in a row after such a run does hurt because everything is relative. A Twinnings English breakfast tea is fine but when you have just had a cuppa Yorkshire tea / PG then it tastes like gnat's pi55. We need to bounce back in two weeks.

2 narrow losses on the bounce is not a pattern.   These defeats were down to strong mitigating factors, which we all know.  The matches before these 2 games are a better representation of our abilities.

So I was thinking about this and

- We're 2nd in the league
- Based upon the last 2 months we could be considered title contenders
- Away from the last week we’re scoring goals
- Multiple players are scoring
- The football is decent and the passing and movement is unrecognisable from the last few years.
-The squad look united and engaged
- The effort and work rate is good
- Players are engaging with supporters
- Youth is getting involved
- Crowds home and away are excellent
- BP feels positive
- The owners are doing what they said they would
- The Trust are involved look at the Fan Zone
- The training ground looks fit for purpose and a new one is in flight.
- The chairman has stated that if PH needs a striker he can have one.
- We’re in the cup with a winnable game next week
- The manager has some staff including an analyst
- People are interested again

Yeah we lost a couple and we need another option up front (Grant?) but we where never going to win every game or be top until the end.
