Highly doubtful. He was only at Town during the 1992/93 season & that season we had Paul Sherwood, Rhys Wilmot & Paul Reece at the club as well as a loan spell for Dave Beasant.

And I’m not sure whether it was still 2 subs only back in 1992/93.

Just checked & the third substitute (goalkeeper) was introduced at the start of the 1994/95 season. This was amended the following season to remove the rule that one of the subs had to be a goalkeeper.

So no, Jason Trinder wouldn’t have been on the bench because sub goalkeepers weren’t a thing in the Football League back then.
