Hilarious they've not included the most talked about part of the entire match in these.

I did think that was quite a bad omission

Forget the omission, let’s focus on what a great penalty that was. Anything less and the keeper saves it.

It's in the matchday memories video. He's stretching to be fair. Some say Mcatee should have scored himself, I think he did the right thing squaring it for what should have been a tap in but he was flying and maybe just slightly overhit it. I think LJL would have got there in his first spell.

Yeah if McAtee had taken it on and missed he would’ve been crucified with LJL there for a tap in.

Ah well, all’s well that ends well.

Yep, fortunately largely irrelevant. Though I've a decent bet on Mcatee finishing top scorer so I wouldn't encourage too much unselfish play

Have they edited the most obvious talking point because in truth Mcatee was at fault and should’ve just flipping buried it rather than plying Lenny in?

Sousa deserves a lot of credit for the 2nd taking the ball of their player and the interplay between him and LJL was smart before laying it off to McAtee for the strike.

Since LJL came back he’s missed 3 open goals by my reckoning and not one of them has been his fault apparently. I get the criticism of him is over the top but there’s no need to dress the misses up as anything but bad misses. The club don’t need to either and it’s a bit weird to miss it out the highlights.

Thought his contribution in the highlights looked pretty good overall though and something to be encouraged by.

I reckon McAtee laid it across for LJL because he's a team player and wants his mate to grab a goal to get his confidence up.

I get it. LJL misses 'easy' chances and one day it might cost us.

But the facts are that LJL has started two games and scored two goals. Both pens of course.

But he's in the team because he's a team player. Ask any one of our attacking players and I bet they'll want LJL in the team because he does the donkey work.

Wish we'd lay off the guy now, it's getting boring. It's almost as if some fans want to press the self-destruct button. Back the guy - he's our player, wearing our shirt and giving his all.

This is one of those situations where a genuine and fair criticism can’t be made/isn’t tolerated because of the history surrounding the issue. Over-reactions from both ends.

Paul Hurst very rarely criticises any of his players but he blamed McAtee for not shooting and that it was a poor pass but no criticism of his very special player LJL for missing an open goal.

Pretty pathetic it has been left out of the highlights.

I've noticed quite a few times that the highlights clean out anything they think could reflect badly on players,a vlifton missed header from a few yards, macca flapping at a cross and crookes blocking the resulting chance etc. It seems to be a new policy, perhaps to discourage comments on YouTube?

It's hardly surprising people want to talk about it, it was a bad miss, the pass wasn't perfect maybe but wasn't that bad. Lennie will rarely have an easier chance. Its indicative of everything we know about his shooting ability.

However, he had the balls to take the penalty and it was a very good one indeed, anything less than perfect and the keepers saving that one. For me he is a bit of a different player than he used to be, he used to have a really high work rate closing down defenders and defending from the front. He's older now though and a lot heavier (all muscle mind) and he can't get about the pitch in that way. He does however have incredible strength and was holding up the ball well Saturday, he definitely brings something to the table in that way.

I love Lenny but it was a shocking miss.  Stretching or not, he should have absolutely buried it.  As has been said so many times before, if he was clinical he wouldn't be here and would have spent a longer period of his career at a much higher level.

Apologies if already discussed on a previous thread, but what was going on with the celebration for his goal?  It seemed very much of an LJL love in from the rest of the players, more so than usual.

Also, nice that the highlights picked up the shithouse trip on McAtee after the penalty. I wondered what had gone on when he was arguing with the referee.

Almost as pathetic as the 'his very special player' comment. Top of the table, six home wins on the bounce yet still a dig at Hurst for something or other.

From watching the moments video, it looked like the pass was a little overhit, but LJL should still have got there. I'm not convinced he even needed to slide in for the shot - I think he could maybe have controlled it and then tapped it in as he wasn't stretching all that much. Difficult to say without seeing the higher angle footage. Hopefully he'll get the chance to score the next one during the coming week because we certainly don't have anyone else available in the squad to lead the line at the moment.

This is one of the things I admire about this squad. They’re showing their appreciation of a valued teammate (one who they perhaps feel is a bit under appreciated by fans). They made a big fuss of Harry the other week and Max when he got the third against Wrexham.

All for one and one for all.

After watching those highlights, I still think that their keeper ought to have got out to the ball before Bapaga got there to win the penalty. Seemed to slow down on the way out rather than accelerating which was a bit odd. A better shot from McAtee to score his goal than I thought at the time as well. I thought it might have sneaked past the keeper a bit too easily, but it was really well-placed.

Four points clear at the top of the league with 100% win record at home.

Yet we still want more and criticize players for not shooting or missing a chance.

Let's enjoy the moment because seasons like this do not happen very often.

We could have just beat Barcelona in the Champion's League and some people would still be unhappy about something. In the end you can't please everyone and some folks can't go a day without complaining about something.

Some people just don't like Hurst because he told them the truth instead of giving lip service like Holloway and Jolley did, telling them how great they are and how great the area is but then offered little in actual coaching and management. People ate up the comments on the fans, the area and how all the players will have to move local though. They never hurt the fans feelies by saying they act spoilt but they also presided along a downward spiral.

Thing is, no performance will be perfect. Even in beating Dover 6-0, we missed a penalty.

So let's all accept that there will be bad misses even in games we dominate and just move on with our lives. I know what will happen, though — a bad miss will cost us a game and the negative nellies will be quicker than the 'Just back' OPs to shout 'told you so'.

Well, excrement happens. And it always will. No one is perfect.
