Afternoon lads

Did anyone from this great forum travel over to Scandinavia for the pre season vs Trelleborg  , I think it was around 2001 ?
My first time to see the team and meet the fans …feels like forever..

It was definitely 2001 DM. Pretty sure a couple of other members of this forum have mentioned it before.

Trelleborg, Ystad* and one of the Copenhagen teams wasn’t it?

* don’t know if Wallander was there 😉

We had a young Kevin Ellison on trial from Leicester if memory serves. I say young, he’d have been 22 - remarkable that he’s still going strong in the EFL twenty years later.

Think Trelleborg was a village pitch, down a lane with some marquees up. It was like going to a country fair! I seem to remember having a kickabout on the pitch beforehand and that a few of us hijacked the pre match team photo
Ystaad was a nice little town , first time i'd ever tried pear cider. It was their regional drink and years before Kopperberg

We went to Denmark the following year and had a another fun trip, taking in Copenhagen and Herfolge, which was a bizarre place. But that's another story.....
