LJ Lewis wouldn't get in the Bromsgrove team. He may hold the ball up and lay off on the odd occasion but his shooting is abysmal. Couldn't hit a cows backside with a banjo!

If I ever had to face a firing squad LJL is the man to fire the gun for me!

Lenny holds the ball up well and clearly has a positive influence on the squad etc. Nobody has ever doubted his hard work and determination but the bloke couldn’t finish a dinner…

Bloody hell I hope not!

Relax. he said the injury was not serious and that he should be ok for next week.

The point is that players can be injured in training at any time.  So we definitely need back up.

Think Lenny would be good in a 442 supporting another striker, holding up the ball and providing the lay-offs.. in the same way he did for our wide players today.

Essel looked OK too, was hoping he'd get a full half after going in 3 up at half time.

A lot of draws in today’s cup ties meaning replays for the likes of Wrexham and Halifax plus Yeovil so hopefully more tired legs for these teams.

Well if McAtee doesn't make it for Yeovil then at least Bapaga and Sousa are both in fine form, I thought they were both outstanding today. Fox was brilliant too, he works so hard with and without the ball, he's really looking the player we all hoped he'd be.

Can't believe how strong the depth of this squad is, seven changes and we still looked so fluid, Hurst really has a difficult job picking next weeks team!

Just rewatched the game having slyly followed it on my phone during a pub lunch with the in-laws. My only definitive conclusion is that Jermaine Beckford is the worst co-commentator that has ever lived.

Every player he mentioned was brilliant and I am sure he said that Bromsgrove were dominant in the second half.

As we've seen with our own radio commentary, not all former players make good commentators and pundits. Just as they don't all make good coaches and managers.

Just watch the whole 90mins this morning.. We didn't really leave second gear I felt. Centre backs did well, Fox was a class above. I felt wide players did ok, Sousa in patches was unplayable... I felt LJL hold up play was absolutely fantastic but his shooting is poor (as we knew anyway) I think PH is doing the right thing with him, bits and bobs here and there. Keepers kicking was very good, maybe too good at times!

I think some of yesterday’s other results underline what a fine performance and result that was from Town yesterday; Wrexham and Halifax failing to beat Marine and Pontefract Collieries respectively.

You can only beat what’s in front of you, but we made 7 or 8 changes and did that very comfortably without ever looking disjointed. Not the greatest test we’ll face this season, but yet another reminder of the strength in depth we have nonetheless, and signs that Bapaga may be the answer to the question, “how do you play without McAtee?”

A smooth sea never made a skillful mariner.
