I see new turf is being laid at The Racecourse after concerns were raised this season about the pitch.

A couple of interesting comments at the end of the article below

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

With the way they play a good surface is going to be really important. You don't want Ben Tozer slipping as he tries to hurl another throw into the box from 50 yards away

What will be their next excuse for their poor form?

And yet still being ineffective against half decent sides that just defend it…

They could have done with getting used to their new pitch in pre-season.

Ha ha ha..  perhaps they should install hand dryers around the pitch.  All Tozer has to do is put the ball under the blower to dry it off! 😁

With their wealth I would have a plastic pitch, Has to give you a massive advantage and within the rules. UTM

They’re hoping to get promoted this year and you’re not allowed a plastic pitch in the proper leagues……

I think that the point being made is that IF they were to win promotion they could just rip up the plastic pitch and put a grass one in instead, seeing that they're supposedly not short of a bob or two.

On the other hand, they can practice on it this year and hope to get promoted next year.

Our new trusted custodians sorted the pitch issues out in the close season.
Wrexham's Hollywood custodians have concluded in October that they need a new pitch.
Rest easy guys these guys are clueless.

There’s an argument to suggest you’re probably not that wrong. They’ve recruited players who on paper aren’t bad but they’ve a Bob a job manager and a system that’s far from working…or working how they’d like it to.

It’s an odd time to start flipping about with the pitch…

I'm no expert, but relaying a pitch in October is asking for trouble. It needs time to bed in, if we have some bad weather in the next couple of weeks, which is possible,  would a newly laid pitch stand up to it?

I'm not surprised they've felt the need to take it up but I don't understand why they are putting new turf back down. The ball never even touches the grass.

They only have one league home game between now and the 20th November, but even still, that's pretty amateur from Wrexham if correct. Nantwich's ground is a tiny affair with only 300 seats and a maximum capacity of 3,500 - certainly not enough for their 8,000 season ticket holders (a good chunk of whom are of the 'fair weather' variety and probably wondering what the fùck they've actually bought into). Around three quarters of an hour away, it's the equivalent of us having to play home games at Brigg.

Wrexham have gone about this season in a very brash manner, and as things continue to keep going wrong for them it's an increasingly poor look. For a club that's been stuck down here for over a decade now, they should have known to show more respect to the division - it ain't no cake walk. I do have sympathy for their genuine, dyed in the wool fans, but watching their brazen, new money arrogance blow up in their face in creatively unique ways is really quite amusing.

But it would be ok for Brigg Mariner, no traveling, etc.
