Today I travelled to Sheffield for a funeral. Wearing a GTFC tie (Something football was a stipulation of the dress code). Drove all the way there, and within 1 minute of getting out my car I was stopped and asked how Hunt is progressing. They really are fond of him over there!

From what I've read. Sounds like they haven't had a decent performance all season. Can't settle on a formation, their playermakers (Wing and Bannan) heavily criticised. Could impact on whether a full season loan is possible.

I was with two Wednesday season ticket holders this evening who said that he's one of a number who have been on the fringes of their matchday squad. They seemed doubtful they'll need him back in January and thought they'd probably settle for him carrying on getting the experience he is doing with us. Fingers crossed.

A Wednesday fan customer of mine said if Hunt was to play at SWFC then Bannon would need to be dropped and that wasn't going to happen. Don't think they're doing too well, we don't need a change of manager there as Hunt is pivotal IMO.

Much more to him than just his set piece delivery of course, but I've never seen anyone take corners so consistently and brilliantly. He drives them with perfection, a wand of a foot and a brilliant footballer way below his level. Hope he stays until the end of the season to finish the job.

I’d love to keep him but the reality is he’s going to have a top career in at least the championship and maybe the premier league. I’m enjoying his performances and I think after this season this boy will be a big part of our history even though he will go on to much bigger things.

Yes, absolutely no chance of keeping him. Even if we are promoted at the end of the season. Enjoy him while you can, I agree there is at least a championship player in there.

Honestly I thought Embleton would be a championship player, looks like he's about  league one standard. Is Hunt better than Embleton, don't know, but he's going to have to be a hell of a lot better to end up in the premier league.

Embleton is only 22 and looking at some of the reports he’s been one of  Sunderland’s better players so I’m sure the championship isn’t beyond him.

I think Hunt is a real talent and destined for a high level of football. Looks like he’s got a bit of filling out to do to sit alongside that talent but that will come.

If we can keep him for the whole season and he can hack the physicality and schedule that will do him the world of good and based upon what we’ve seen be of real benefit to us too.

Can’t believe (according to wiki!) he’s out of contract at the end of the year!
