Come on town.
Some big games tonight, Chesterfield or Wrexham dropping points, Notts county or Halifax also.
Woking home to the Daggers after beating Chesterfield and Notts County, what a four game run for them!

Indeed. As JF found out. 😂😂😂

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'

I’m not sure about that actually, history tells you it often does. Rushden & Diamonds, Crawley, Fleetwood, Forest Green and Salford all bought their way out of the division. There will have been others I’ve forgotten, too.

I’m just not sure about the way Wrexham have gone about it. Having a lineup where two or three blokes earn between five and ten times the rest of the players doesn’t really scream harmony to me.

Another bad ref's decision, that's got to be 3/4 in the last few games. The Sooner we're out of this league the better.

I think it can be sending off sufficient. Another test for Town but one that’s not beyond us if we keep us shape.

Appeal and overturn

Booked him for his first foul, wasn't denying any advantage and wasn't a bad foul by the sound of it so not sure why he did it.

Brilliant

'I walked in the dressing room. The window was open and I thought that a sea fret had got in. Then I saw smoke billowing from a pipe in the corner of the room...it was my centre-forward. Just seen the goals and the sending off on the TB shorts.

WTF was that second yellow for?

It was Steven Copeland from Merseyside. Same as Stockport game.

Apparently he told PH that the header from McAtee was stopped from being a goal by a hand but the defender was too close to McAtee for it to be a handball or a penalty.

Either way a win, still top of the league and 9 goals in 2 games.

Just seen the red card on BT Sports, Bopaga jumped up in front of their player taking a throw in, the ball hit Bopaga in the face, ref books him and he's off.

Is jumping up in front of a player taking a throw in a bookable offence? Especially if he has already been booked..

The many qualities shown during this match, and fantastic workrate, are needed by any team wanting to be champions. And holding on for a win!

Huge result that. Absolutely horrendous to listen to was that last 20 mins and I’m still feeling sick now. Hopefully later on in the season we can look back and see that this one was of the results that really helped us get a good lead.

Halifax were losing 2-0, then had a straight red in the 60th min.  With 10 men they then scored 3 late goals and won 3-2 against Notts County.

I REALLY hope you can see a great Town side. You’ve had years and years of sub-par stuff. Good on you for hanging in this long.

Takes a bit of pressure off the next game now, 4 points from 2 tricky away games at Altrincham and Woking would be a result in my eyes.

So what can you say? May the ref have a lousy journey home, 2 flat tyres, and run out of fuel and then he might realise how we felt with his decisions.

That's the negative out of the way. The last 2 games and 9 goals, best goal difference, the joint highest scorers in the league and we are TOP of the league. Champions in the making and Woking must be wondering how to draw with us.

You do have to feel sorry for fans of money bags Wrexham, Stockport and Chesterfield; not forgetting Notts Cty and Southend. They must all have a crick in their necks looking up at us in our league position. What we have is what they want, not 11 players on a pitch but a TEAM.

Well done to all the team tonight and not forgetting our marvelous traveling army of fans, may they return home safely. I'm sure their voices in the last few minutes helped the team secure another win and continue another run of good results.

I am cold, I am wet, but whp cares what  a performance!

Without Altringhams 12th Man we'd of won that 6 or 7 nil.

Great performance overall, Waterfall,  Towler, Bapa, Taylor and McAfee stand outs once again. Our midifeld  did what our midifeld does, runs and runs and runs.

Macca unlucky with both goals

McAfee, shouldn't if dicked about and just buried it at 3-2 and finished them off

Ref was excrement , really excrement. Thier player slips, wraps his hands round the ball and pulls it under his body apparently not handball.

Thats all for now hard to type while bouncing round in the car

Isn't stopping a goal with a hand supposed to be an automatic sending off? I didn't know that was up to the ref to decide.

The second goal looks a very, very weak one to concede.

Love the pace at which it looks like we were playing on the counter or when we won the ball high up the pitch. Henshaw was very impressed in commentary too.

From the Altrincham forum tonight. Nice to have some positive comments after last season.

"We fought hard in that second half to get back into the game so credit to the lads there. I thought Grimsby were excellent tonight, quick on the ball and didn't give us any time or space until they went down to 10. Definitely the best side I've seen this season and truthfully speaking probably had a bit too much for us before the red.

As some have said already 3 points from these last 2 games is a superb return overall, especially as we've played two league leaders in the space of a few days. I'd imagine Parky will be trying to rotate the squad just enough to try and ensure we don't suffer a bit of burnout like we did last season whilst ensuring we continue to put in these excellent performances.

Unbelievable support from them too bringing that many but also 1600 Alty fans for a Tuesday night is something I don't think I've ever seen for a league game before"
