Doesn’t look massively heavy, but how do 4G pitches hold up in the rain out of interest?

A million times better than a grass pitch. I don't know how it all works but they're brilliant.. I play on a couple quite regularly as a few local sides down here use them for their home games.

Great for teams who play the ball on the deck.

Hopefully we won’t have any players complaining when 5G pitches are a thing

They give you Covid don’t they?

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

Sutton last season and Harrogate the season before both had plastic pitches. Both are now in the EFL.

Think they do give an advantage to teams who play on them regularly.

Yeah they definitely do - we had a team in our division couple couple seasons ago in Sunday league who played on one.

The ball zips off them so much faster when bouncing, weighting of passes is different to grass, everything you are accustomed to when playing on softer more uneven (even if professional grass pitch will always be more uneven than 4g) changes.

That team did very well at home and lost most away games, and we aren't talking about a home crowd advantage in Sunday league..
