Isn't Martin Allen due another stint there?

Altho we dont know the full story apart from him telling another player to shal we say  put some effort in  i dont see why he has been frozen out

We do get a few of these posts with most Holloway signings.  'Why hasnt Hurst kept him?'  Because he didnt want him, and would probably not have signed him.

So far Hurst has kept Waterfall, Scannell and Spokes.
Of those he hasnt kept, George Williams is at a league club, and Payne at Chesterfield, Ira at Wealdstone.  Arguably only Joe Starbuck is on track to prove him wrong but its VERY early days for him too, he's been at Sheff Utd a matter of weeks.

Put it this way, would you rather he'd kept Morais and not signed Erico Sousa?

That's the face value of the situation. What was done and said afterwards by him in the dressing room and to Hurst we don't know. What we do know is the Hurst very quickly made his mind up about both of them and TBH we haven't missed him. P6 W5 D1 and 9 different scores. I can't see any improvement on that if he still played for and let's not forget he was only 60 minutes man, 45 mins at best.

Doesn't matter what he did or didn't do to be out of favour. Hurst didn't want him for whatever reason, just like he didn't want Williams, Rose, Gibson or Jackson etc and told them all they wouldn't be in his plans.

Our start to the season shows Hurst was right to bin them.

According to this site, he's even in the betting, but there's an orrible bloke @ 20/1. I love him to get it so on the away day we can say our piece to his face.

He would probably tell their fans he was looking forward to the game a week before, only to resign the day before because he's a coward.

I thought Jolley was alright

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

Of all the managers we had in the middle of that Hurst sandwich, Jolley is the one I don’t resent. He did a brilliant job in keeping us up in 2018, and you only have to look at the attendance against Forest Green on the opening day of the following season to realise how much hope he generated. Sadly, that game turned out to be a lesson in how not to build momentum.

It was hit and miss from there on in - typically six games on, six games off. Never enough to build real momentum. At times tactically very good, at others very naive - the cup games at Palace and Chelsea representing both extremes.

Ultimately, he found himself without a job for stupid reasons. He cracked under the pressure; let the mask slip. You can’t really defend his actions, but when you think back to how he referenced “the circus upstairs”, with hindsight it does make you wonder what was going on behind the scenes.

I’ll say this much, had that not have happened, and had he still been with us through Covid, I very much doubt we would be in this league right now. He’d have certainly made a better fist of pre-season last year than Holloway did.

I’m not trying to re-write history here; Jolley had his flaws. But we’re talking about a young manager with little more than 100 games to his name. It’s tangible how much Hurst has improved since his first spell with more experience under his belt, and with a decent set-up behind him. I just wonder how Jolley might have done given sufficient experience under the right leadership.

Sadly for him, and maybe us too, we may never find out.

League Two Grimsby. They researched the headbutt but couldn't get the league we play in right.
