Do we have reserve matches this season?

Real shame really that we don't have more reserve games in my opinion.

Looks like we're out the Central League that we were in for previous season which massively limits the number of games we play.  As mentioned above, for fringe players that limits what we can do in terms of keeping players ticking over other than arranged friendlies but also for those youth team players to get a taste of playing against men rather than players of their own age.

Aside to that, they were a big part of my footballing education as a kid.  Going to the Pontins League games against reserve sides from the top flight was always enjoyable and definitely played a part in wetting my appetite for the game and GTFC.  I think it's largely out of our hands with the advancement of Under 23 leagues etc. reducing the need and demand for reserve team leagues but it would be nice to see a return to something like that.

Gutted! I like a reserve game in mid week. Was one of the things I was looking forward to when I semi retired and have the time to go regularly. Reckon we'd be getting a good few down there too at the moment.

Could the club arrsnge their own reserve fixtures as open door friendlies instead?

Opportunity for any new trailists / non contracted players to have a go?

That's how Giles Coke arrived, and that's worked out ok !!
