Banning companies carrying out their legal business in a free market economy because we don't agree with their business practices?

In another thread you'll find the same people up in arms over Marxism, snowflakes, protesting about demonstrating your views and cancel culture.

Miss Scunthorpe. Not a beauty pageant, just sound advice.

The wider issues seem to be the lack of regulation of betting in sport, particularly football…I’m sure there are regulations but they don’t seem too stringent in truth…

There's a huge gambling review taking place this year. The current Gambling Act was written in 2005, when betting on your phone didn't even exist. It's not been fit for purpose for a while.

This reform will put more pressure on gambling companies. Some are already ahead and planning for this new world (where, for example, TV advertising may be banned).

As for gambling ads within football... there may be more stringent regulation coming, but I doubt any new rule will include a blanket ban. Hopefully there will be some sensible measures.

The gambling industry is crooked as a previous poster pointed out. Sorry Rich, I know you said you work for a gambling company, but when they restrict people who win fair and square that smacks of a crooked set-up and undermines any claim that it’s a fair business.

The time outs and the self-set spending limits are all things that the industry has been pushed into. They cannot be trusted.

Also it can ruin lives faster than drugs and alcohol. I hope we never accept money from any such business.

As bad as the tobacco industry in my book.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.
