Contraversial ...

Mike Newell...Barry Conlon

Scored the goals that kept us up when he first came in.

I was in the club shop the day he signed, saw him and I think it was Sweeney that signed on the same day.

Conlon turned out to be a joke but it was his goals at the end of that season kept us up, Woods couldnt handle him and we ended up going down.

I think Bignots best signing was Sam Jones. In fact I thought he signed a few good players which Slade got rid of.

Correct me if any of these are the wrong manager...

2006-2008 Alan Buckley (version 3) - Martin Paterson

2008 Stuart Watkiss Caretaker Manager

2008-2009 Mike Newell - Wayne Henderson

2009-2011Neil Woods - Alan Connell

2011Dave Moore Caretaker Manager

2011 Rob Scott, Paul Hurst - Craig Disley (with mentions for Pearson, McKeown, Hear too)

2013-2016 Paul Hurst - Omar Bogle (although Amond did better for Hurst)

2016-2017 Marcus Bignot - Jamie Osborne

2017-2018 Russell Slade (version 2) - Siriki Dembele

2018     Paul Wilkinson     Caretaker Manager

2018 - 2019     Michael Jolley - Jake Hessenthaler

2019      Anthony Limbrick     Caretaker Manager

2019 - 2020     Ian Holloway - Josh Benson (who he almost sent back after a week)

2021 - Present     Paul Hurst - Giles Coke (whilst Matete has been good, it's because of Coke going quietly about his business)

Had Hessenthaler not been poleaxed, it's likely that Benson would have been sent back because Holloway wasn't impressed with him in training.

Maybe he didn't do his run or something I don't know, but I got told he almost got sent back a week before he came into the team.

I liked Jones a lot, Mind blowing to see what's happened to him.

But his best signing was Osborne for me, unreal player, who i honestly believe would of been comfortable in league 1

I liked a lot of Bignot's signings — not every single one of them, mind. Like every manager, your success rate is 50/50 (at best) but Sam Jones and Jamey Osbourne had great technical ability. Shame he never got Asante firing, it was all a bit of a mess (hence lose 5-1 at home to Donny one week, then beat Blackpool away 3-1 the next).

Definitely some forgettable signings and loans in there (Luke Maxwell) and the tactics were all over the shop, but I saw more in them than I saw in any of Holloway's summer signings. Ira Jackson Jr and Spokes may have something about them, but given the way Holloway operated I'd class that as fortune rather than any scouting skill.
