Now now would be a supply line for our new strikers... There are two themes that define all of our best strikers from our first non-league spell (still rankles me to have to put it like that). They were either proven in the league above and in their late twenties, or prolific in the league below and in their early twenties. That’s a very simplistic way of looking at things but as a basic litmus test I’d be happy with anyone who meets that criteria. Finding someone of either ilk who we can afford and wants to come here will be tricky though, I suspect. A smooth sea never made a skillful mariner.

Right you are. ben davies was being paid as a coach /assisitant manager, so yeah, probably not too far off the money Scannell seems an anomaly, but Holloway signed him at the very last minute didn't he, after the deadline had passed and after Scannell hadn't played for ages? Might be that Scannell was desperate and the majority of money was bonuses/pay as you play? if he was being paid so little ,it might explain why Hurst didn't freeze him out like he did with Rose & Williams?
