When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

I'm 22, coming up 23.

I started supporting town in the 07/08 season, all i've ever known is misery and that blood sucking leech Fenty.

How flipping good it feels to have hope, something to look forward too. Owners who care.

This is the happiest day of my life.

Absolutely delighted. I have supported the Mariners since 1951, so I have seen brilliant times at Blundell Park, however today is THE day for GTFC with the new owners saying all the right things in their statement.  I am really looking forward to next season and hope that it will be the last ever season we are in the NL!  UTM.

Great news! I’ve just had a text off Grimsby Pete who is in hospital with heart problems, I’ve been keeping Pete updated due to him having no Internet/wifi in the heart ward and this has made his day, he said that this news is better than any treatment he’s receiving, he’s been quite down in the last few days but this news has perked him right up, he sends his best wishes to all on the fishy. 👍

A day I will remember as I was working at BP today in the fanzone area when all the press and retinue assembled on the pitch to officially welcome the new owners. Downed tools for a while and watched the proceedings.

After what seems like an eternity of misery we finally have a bit of hope and a future to look forward to. The new owners haven't promised the earth and we shouldn't expect it either. But if they deliver on their promise to improve the standing of the club and make it something the community can be proud of then more power to them.

The club has been run like a cartel in the last few years, funded by the fans but the power was with and decisions made by the incompetent few who clung on to power for grim death. Now they've gone we've got to back the new owners. Bring an extra mate to a game, buy a programme when you maybe werent' going to, get a shirt for the first time in years. Let's all pull in the same direction. The club is in a terrible condition due to the previous custodians and there is a long way to go but at last we have the people in place that can move us forward. UTM
