This might be controversial but I don't think Fenty would see the club go to the wall. So, although I don't have faith in Fenty moving us forward I certainly don't see us playing Clee Town or Grimsby Borough. That is a lazy, knee jerk comment.

I don’t think Aaron has got it wrong. It might not come to pass but it’s not a lazy knee-jerk comment. Fenty stays, crowds will drop (potentially by a huge amount judging by what I’ve heard and read), the fans won’t rally round like they did last time we went out the League, there will be no appetite for any new ‘Op Promotion’. We could easily be looking at NLN the season after next, and so the downward spiral continues.

It was wrong of me to say lazy. However, I don't envisage such a spiral.

If the takeover is to happen surely it has to be a clean break by that I mean no JF or PD on the board moving forward..

I doubt Fenty would let the club go to the wall as he would lose all his money and that seems to be his main focus (getting it back). But the club sliding ever lower is conceivable as the lack of investment bites deeper and deeper - more difficult to recruit better players, more difficult to attract meaningful sponsors, crowds getting smaller and smaller and the whole place being run to survive not thrive.


Miss Scunthorpe. Not a beauty pageant, just sound advice.

Easier said than done if the consortium can only generate enough cash to buy a proportion of the shares that they want to and that leaves Fenty and Day holding the rest.

Sorry what I  meant by that is would the consortium want to go ahead with the takeover if they can't have full control and need JF or PD still on board.. Can't see it being a part takeover myself
