That's it. At the end of the day, the club is a basket case. So instead of looking at who's doing a bad job, it would be easier to say who is doing a good job.

Start at the top - I'm open to suggestions!

Rob does a good job on here keeping all of us in order

50 points is the magic number quoted. So what do we need to get them?

We need 8 wins and two draws from the remaining games.

The question is whether there is any evidence at all from the last four or five games that we are capable of doing that.

We still create very few chances and display weakness at the back. we hardly ever keep a clean sheet.  We at least have a better goalkeeper though.

I don't see how we are suddenly going to start winning every other game.  I think it would help if we had a more positive approach, and played with two up top. We just don't seem to have the players to keep it tight at the back so we may as well adopt an 'attack is the best form of defense' approach.

We ARE supporters
We ARE all Town aren’t we
We ARE Grimsby Till We Die

Apart from the man Hursty who led us back into the FL after a utterly dreadful season in 2009/2010 there is no other connections to the fans

On that pitch on a Saturday afternoon or whatever time they KO nowadays on a Tuesday there is no connection to us the fans - it means nothing to them - they don’t care about relegation do they?? Because if they did they would be busting a a testicle or two to avoid it

These lads / journey men / fill in accordingly  representing OUR club our Grimsby Town don’t really know or understand what it means to us the supporters - the fans - the men the women who have spent decades of their lives supporting this club - who have spent thousands of pounds supporting this club - these football players currently haven’t experienced a Grimsby Town crowd in full voice - a Grimsby Town crowd filling out an away end in the middle of England - an away end in a suburb of London or in the North West

One man who knows what it means to us is Paul Hurst and Paul it’s down to you to install in these players what it means to US to US the Grimsby Town fans - because with out us this club would be nothing absolutely nothing

Wouldn't you have hoped he had already done this?

Technically yes, but whether Holloway left or was sacked is splitting hairs. We have a new manager whose been here for 2 months and some fans, yourself included, think we should sack another one. We've had 9 managers and caretaker managers in less than 5 seasons, yet you think appointing number 10 will make us better. There is no evidence that getting yet another manager will have a positive effect, but there is plenty of evidence that it won't.

Apart from that, the only times in recent memory that we have looked like a proper team is when Hurst has been in charge. First in the conference and then his short time in league 2 before he left. It's been all downhill since he went to Shrewsbury.

Would you say that was right?

No, you're making things up now.

I never said it would make us better but it would be a gamble in exactly the same way it is a gamble keeping Hurst considering his current record since he joined.

Personally having seen all the games this season especially the last two which were appalling I would gamble on a new manager. Hopefully I am wrong and he keeps us up, but if we go down I would hope he leaves.

As regards his managerial record, his last two jobs and his current one haven't gone that well have they?

No they haven't but he didn't have much time to make a difference.

Interesting point of view you have, pessimistic in the extreme, but that can be forgiven with the relentless failure of the club we both want to see do well.

Think I'll retire to my corner now and see what transpires.
