Bunny was woeful against Crawley, his passing was shocking, let’s hope he got a good nights sleep and puts in a decent performance tonight, I’m sure he’s a lot better player than the one we’ve seen so far

Are we any closer to getting promoted since Hurst has been here? No

Has he been given time to achieve promotion by the chairman and fans? Yes

Hurst out

Really hope that's more of a 4231 than a defensive 451

Ive paid way too much this season for I follow 😂 but I genuinely believe we do have some good players in this side who, given the ball, can make something happen. Get it down and play football.

Looks like a 4-3-3 to me. Matete and El Mizouni driving forward from midfield, with Rose sitting; Adams running at the opposition full-back and Morais swinging in beauties for Payne. Hopefully.

I think after the last few matches, and Hursts insistence on seeing what the other team are doing rather than concentrating on doing our own thing, it could well be a thinly disguised 9-0-1

Feel for the ones that have been left out especially Ira Jackson Jr. Had high hopes for him when he signed for Grimsby.

Also is about time FGR lived up to their lofty position, we could do with them beating Stevenage.

Of course it all matter not a jot if we don't win.

Tonight's the night boys.

Why not 442 ffs

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

4-5-1 with advanced wide men. For me, it's the way to go as it gives us width but also the solidity in the middle with the 3 in central midfield. Can work well when the wide man drags his full back inside, bringing the overlapping full back in to play. Important for two of those centre mids to look to get into the box as often as possible to support the lone striker.so energy from the young lads Matete and Mizouni will be key, with Rose being the one to look to sit.

The only time we have ever looked remotely like a team is when we have been 442
Saturday was a good example

Very sloppy in possession. Morais not started well and keeps losing the ball. Payne needs to get onside and stop trotting around.

Far to easy.

Payne is the typical lazy journeyman. Doesn't have the desire or effort to make runs or get into space to support teammates when they have the ball. Don't understand at all what Hurst sees in him. Would much rather see John Lewis on who is a much more energetic target man and is actually capable of bringing others into play (even if he does require five chances to score one!)

Another brilliant training ground routine there. Clever one two from the corner allowing us to pass the ball into their keeper's chest under absolutely no pressure with no attackers anywhere near him. Really classy stuff.

No one in the 6 yard box on that short corner as the 2nd ball was wiped in, whats the point!

I don't mind Roy Keane making £60,000 a week. I was making the same when I was playing. The only difference was I was printing my own - Mickey Thomas

The area you are trying to protect at corners is the goal - Chris Kamara

The fact Bunney gets on the pitch says more about Hurst than it does poor Bunney, not his fault.

The same old strange tactics and selections we became used to under Hurst and conveniently forgot about when he was hired.

Damn awful.

Zero creativity, Payne is lost with no one feeding him xesperately trying to close down CBs on his own.

We're 1-0 down and our midfield still isn't pushing up to support, just passing it sideways and backwards.

Defence is lost and clueless as always.

I am really really really struggling to find a positive about that half that isn't the refs not half bad for a change

How that bloke hit the bar with that chance I will never know

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

Got to feel the next 45 mins are season-defining. Nothing at Harrogate, followed by nothing tonight would be a major blow to the team's confidence. Needs bold changes now, not after 70 mins. As Crofty said, "this isn't working".

It was scary how easily Brophy dribbled through our defence - he must have done it 3 or 4 times.

I've sent an email

The web chat person I was speaking to said that I only had my usual iFollow account so that's why no video feed

I sent him a link of the email confirmation and he just said, send an email in to the EFL address and closed the chat window!

Brilliant customer service that eh?

Can’t believe I’m watching a Town team. This is as bad if not worse than Holloway’s lot. I’m normally optimistic about survival chances but not anymore. Last post as it is too depressing. Better 2nd half?(irony)

Get Bunny off Henry on

Payne off Hanson on, put Adams up top with him
Go 442

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

surely he has to give the old shrewsbury pairing of shop and payne 45 minutes doesn't he?
any idea where our left back was for that sitter they missed?

its just ground hog day - no creativity, no chances and the ability to concede a goal at the drop of a hat

Well.......quite clearly the players dont have a clue what they are doing shape or organisational wise.
No cohesion, very little confidence.
El Miz & Adam's may as well not be playing, absolutely zero on our left side yet again, Payne and Morais so wasteful with the ball and we look so flat footed in every area.
Shite defending yet again for the goal, not just in itself but in several bits of play before it.
Orient look well capable of scoring a couple more....we hardly look capable of getting past the half way line.

The fact Bunney gets on the pitch says more about Hurst than it does poor Bunney, not his fault.

The same old strange tactics and selections we became used to under Hurst and conveniently forgot about when he was hired.

flipping hopeless

Find it odd how quickly he's replaced Habergham with Bunney. I mean Habergham seemed a bit rusty and nothing out of the ordinary, but at least he didn't look like he was going to pass the ball to the opposition every time he had it.

I have nothing left when it comes to being critical of this team. They are an embarrassment to the club. Orient have been woeful by all accounts recently yet they are so comfortable. Its all right blaming Holloway for this mess but Hurst has had zero impact and his cautious approach is backfiring spectacularly.
I like to think I support my team no matter what but this isn't a team, its just a group of players thrown together and none of them are worth the badge.

Utter  garbage not a decent shot in anger in 47mins.. Another lets hope they dont score and try and nick one in the last 5 mins. Playing well or not, Payne is totally isolated upfront and wasting energy chasing down defenders when everyone else is stood on the halfway line. For this type of 433/451 to work the attacking mid has got to get up with the striker when we have possession and the wide players pushing right upo as well.. Its alright we will maybe keeo it to 1-0 then on 71 mins we'll bring on another striker.

Have to agree, I said Saturdays performance was as bad as it's been and tonight is no different.
The one up front doesn't do us any favours, the ball never sticks.

Why do other clubs have a manager bounce and we never did. Hurst has to go tonight if we loose. This is his team and tactics and it's not working.

There's no excuses anymore he's had time to put a decent team together not 11 players on a pitch.

Surely Hurst has realised he's getting it wrong, is he that stubborn he'll stick to his guns and watch us sink?
Rose n Matete keep bumping into each other, Hewitt runs up pitch n nobody drops in to cover him, Payne keeps seeing his backside, Mizouni is trying but there's never anyone in space to pass to, Waterfall couldn't pass wind successfully let alone a ball, apart from that we are okay!..
Wonder what Stockwood et al are thinking now eh?.

The game just has an inevitably about it, reminiscent of our last relegation season. We look devoid of any attacking intent whatsoever and look like we’re going to concede every time the opposition attacks.

It’s very difficult to see how we get out of this. In fact I can’t see it.

I don't even think I'd be too upset if schutes and others walked away from the deal. Let fenty shoulder the blame and cost of relegation rather than walk away with a bundle of cash as we fall apart

If we carry on fielding such useless, gutless players we'll drop like a stone out of even the national league.

It's the Hurst way.

These players are dreadful, Hurst has surpassed Holloway in the quality of players given the privilege to wear the shirt. So sad to watch.

I was critical of Rose but he’s done ok tonight and should be taken off as we now have nobody who can collect the ball from the defenders and try and get it going in the right direction.

Been saying this for ages.

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

I’ve always been of the opinion that when you’re struggling for form and things aren’t going your way, you go to 442. It’s a formation that every player knows how to play - forget the system and concentrate on doing your own job.

The team that lost to Bristol Rovers at Wembley was better than this one. Despite the shop hitting the post this looks like an easy win for Orient.

Hurst's post match interview should be interesting, they should have scored at least 3.

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

We pick a team/formation with one up front against a team on a real poor run.
We don't have a shot on target or work the keeper yet we leave it until 66 minutes before making a change - which makes no sense and at best is criminal.
We pick Bunney and keep him on.
I feel more angry at Hurst than I did at Holloway. He has had zero impact despite overhauling the team.
We should do a Barrow and realise our mistake.

Much better commentary tonight JT. Now that we know you read the fishy!

Sounds just the usual to me. Always liked Tondeur but after dealing with that Yorkshireman on Saturday hearing Tondeur's voice is like listening to smooth jazz. Was kinda hoping for an update on Stagecoach's fleet though.

Nah it'll just be a repeat of what he said on Saturday. Nailed on he'll say something about us deserving something from the game because we looked marginally more threatening after he bothered to bring some attackers on and will completely ignore the fact they've missed 3 sitters.

For someone who stuck rigidly to 4-4-2 Hurst hasn’t half f*****d up “us shape” since he came back.

Must win game tonight, against a poor team badly out of form, and we start with one up front?

Then go a goal down after 20 minutes and make no changes until mid way through the second half?

I think both teams (Holloway's and Hurst's) are probably the overall worst I've ever seen playing for Town.

I don't think you can even call them 'teams', they are so disjointed.

Very despondent.

Saturday is another day.  Let's hope it's a better one.

W@nk !!

One decent effort worked on goal and that hit the post.

Orient missed 3/4 decent opportunities , 0-1 flattered us.

Hopefully "the believers" will see sense now and cut the positivity bull5hit.

We dont have enough quality to win a game of football....we seemingly dont have a manager that really wants to go and win a game of football.

Why play defensively for 75 mins in every match until after the games gone. Please Hurst send out a team with the aim of WINNING. Put Hendry left back and keep the team that finished tonight.   And say sorry for letting Craig Clay go

OMG so disappointing this was the team we beat 3-2 with the apparently poorer cheaper team and a terrible manager! Probably the last time I saw an exciting game Williams with a classy goal and Windsor running literally from our goal line to get us a penalty that Gibson scored from. This was dreadful and so defensive

Let’s not make out that team was something special. We had a decent 20 mins in the first half then got a spawny pen with the last kick of the game. The entire season’s been shíte from start to fcking finish.

Forest game hammered 3-0 by Stevenage. Lost to Southend as well last week.
No doubt 3 points for them on Saturday to get their promotion bid going again.

Buckley's an old-school lad, he'd probably get us playing 4-4-2 and go in for the attack. It'd probably work

Just hope Hurst learns his lesson from Harrogate and tonight.

I just don't know where a win is coming from. Keeping Bunny on all game why, he was hopeless and can't run.4 4 2 was only slightly better and there was still no midfield engine room. Morais back in defence most of the game. Adams and Payne spent more time in their own half defending and no service up front. Every pass out of defence just about went to their players or nowhere near ours.

There use to be a saying they huffed and puffed but got nowhere. This lot got nowhere. Chickens running around with no ability to pass or create anything.

Hurst has to go. His tactics are all wrong 10 men defence does not work. Sticking with Bunny when Habergham is on the bench. Orient should have easily scored 4/5 or even 6 if their finishing was better.

I was pleased when Holloway was appointed. More pleased when he left.

I was pleased when Hurst was appointed.

But that just shows what a clueless twit I am. Hurst is a disaster. his record is worse that Holloway's. We weren't even in the bottom 3 when he arrived.

Apart from the results, the performances stink and some of the players he has signed are absolute crap.

Bringing Hurst back has just not worked.

We are down now, and it's too late to change that. But Hurst needs to be fired so that a new manger can build a team to bring us back from the NL.

Did anyone else read Hursts pre-match again?

"Once we see their team we will have a decent idea of how they will set-up."

I thought the idea, especially when playing at home is to play however the fook we want, and let the visiting team change their way of playing. Waiting to see how the other team line up first is just about as negative as it can be.

Grow some bollards Hurst and think about our team first. Fook the other team. Don't pander to them

Southend and Barrow lose, prolonging the agony.

Never in all my years watching football have I known a team be so poor for such a long period of time. Almost two decades of dross, year after year, manager after manager.

Surely someone can put together a team that can defend and score a goal now and again. It's pitiful.

All down to Hurst, negative negative negative till its too late, Your wingers wont do anything if they only ever receive the ball in their own half I got red crosses for this soon after Hurst came about his wingers first job is to defend, midfielders to defend and only allowed in the opposing half when we have safe possesion. F him off now, if he can't see these 1 up front or 7 at the back formations wont work. Once these teams have that lead they can just wait and break. Thought Matete played well once he was in a 2 Menayese best of the defenders improved with 2 up but again too late. Nothing wrong with Payne he got no hope just running round with the whole opposing half and 3 defenders to cover.

I was excited when Hurst was appointed because I thought cut the bull, play his reliable old 4-42 and get us playing pragmatic football with some solid points returns. Instead he’s decided to forget what worked well last time he was here and is faffing about with single-striker 4-2-3-1s.

The only time we looked half-dangerous today was the last 15 mins when we actually went 4-4-2 with Hanson and Shop up front.
