At least its 442, I'm a little optimistic today, as we all know Hurst always struggled against tams at the wrong end of the league so hopefully now we're against a team at the other end

I don't mind Roy Keane making £60,000 a week. I was making the same when I was playing. The only difference was I was printing my own - Mickey Thomas

The area you are trying to protect at corners is the goal - Chris Kamara

Surprised that Clifton and Hewitt are the ones to make the cut

Hurst was often accused of being predictable or sticking with his mates but he’s shown he’s grown as a manager today.

I think that side is statement along the lines of ‘you all had a chance, hardly anyone took it so intercourse it...’

Fair play, it’s bold.

Brave decision to drop Macca, and absolutely the right call. I'm interested to see how Waterfall reacts to being named captain.

Do we think that a 442  with Adams /EL Mizouni on the wings or 433 with Adams and Payne either side of Hanson?

Quoted from IlkleyMariner

What an inditement of the previous manager!

It’s actually even worse when you consider that there are actually another six non-Hurst (2021) players in the squad, however all of them were either signed by or made their debut under Jolley (with the exception of Macca who was of course signed by Hurst himself a decade ago).

Macca being dropped is the biggest surprise but probably the best choice for all involved right now. Macca being out of the spotlight and not under pressure means he can knuckle down in training and focus on improving his weaknesses.

Also surprised to see Hewitt as didn't think Hurst really fancied him, also heard that he'd recently had a one on one chat with Hurst and assumed that means Hurst wanted to ship him out. Maybe he said all the right things to get a chance to come in and impress. Habergham does need a rest though, can't fault the effort put in but is still struggling for full match fitness right now. Probably not far off but if he's pushed he might pick up an injury we don't need.

I hope this is 4-3-3. In which case, it’s good to see Hewitt in his best position at right back.
