As soon as the ref blew his whistle, although I always thought you waited until the end of a game to produce the league table.

We need to start winning games, seems ages since we picked up 3 points.

McCormac just hit a left foot volley over the flats behind the stand

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

Sad state of affairs that we are having to rely on other teams losing but that's where we are.

True, but in the relegation zone most of your rivals drop points consistently. Games in hand often just make your position worse!

Hopefully this result can spur the boys on for a win against Scunthorpe. Not that they should need it mind.

It's all good other teams having the games in hand but they need to win those. Would still make me feel better if we start winning some though. These next few games are very important. In Hurst we trust!

Little boost for us that. Not nice to go bottom at any time, but how many years now have we had to look nervously at league 2 results at the bottom?

The takeover can't be completed quickly enough, but it is almost a free hit for the new owners as it would be impossible not to improve our fortunes.

The league seems really close at the minute there's almost a 1 point gradient all the way up the league, no gaps or breakaway groups, anyone in the bottom half could go on just a 3 or 4 game bad run and find themselves suddenly looking in trouble near the bottom

Well it’s a relief that they lost one of their games in hand. A win for us on Saturday would do very nicely.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,

Let’s not be fooled into thinking that we’ve been anything but garbage this season to date, but I get what you mean.

Reality is we can't be relying on everyone else being garbage. We have to improve or we don't stand a cat in hell's chance. We have to save ourselves.

Cambridge are now top and ended up really clinging on in the last 10 minutes against us. They did look functionally very effective. Were ruthless on the break and were reasonably solid. Can half see why they win a lot of games.
