I'm sure Hurst knows what he's doing. He's already said he could sign loads of players if he wanted, but will only sign those that will make a difference. If this guy does indeed end up playing for us, I'm sure he will have proven himself worthy first. Then again, he could be here for any number of reasons.

If he does happen to shine in training might be worth a closer look, but I am hoping that we land someone who has been rather more active recently. We need someone fit and raring to go in the midfield engine room.

Be it with a view to signing or as a potential player, I think is probably an avenue Hurst is exploring. The last 5 years of his C.V don't look great at all.  But as is always rolled out whenever Hurst signs someone that raises questions, neither did Jon Nolan's.
