With it looking likely of no new additions by the weekend unless Hurst springs another surprise on us, going with what we have at the moment how do you expect us to line up at the weekend?

I know a lot of these threads get started but it would be interesting to see who you think he will go with rather than who you hope he will go with, and I'm sorry those of you who think Pollock up front is going to be an option, unless PH is now looking towards the Fishy for line up tips

I know it's ultimately frustrating for a lot of us to see Matt Green in the line up most weeks, but do you think Hurst will have realised his lack of effectiveness and chuck in all his chips on Ira?

I am thinking there won't be too many drastic changes, but I feel Habergham may start over Preston. Spokes and Rose in the centre and I am hoping for Ira instead of Green up top.

Can't see Scannell starting but I can see him being involved. We need these 3 points desperately.

I honestly think there will be at least one through the door in the next 25 hours

I also reckon that there could be others on their way out

Two forwards on the assumption that they're fit if not play Max, push Bennett in behind the sole front man, who should be Gibson and not Green!

Hanson isn't back yet, only doing light training, Hurst said he doesn't want to push him so I figure from that he is going to be a week or two away from being named in a squad.

It would be nice. Whoever it is would need to be a plug and play kinda guy who can slot straight in.

              Macca
Hendrie Pollock Waterfall Preston
         Hewitt Bennett  Clifton
     Wright       Gibson   Morais

Clifton & Hewitt sitting deeper and allowing Bennett a free role as such in the CAM role

We are home to the bottom team, that are the lowest scorers.
Having said that, they have 13 points from 18, which is play-off form

Expecting it to be decided by 1 goal, so as long as we keep them out for more than 5 minutes this time, and stay in the game, we have every chance of winning

On paper, its an ok team.

But dont expect Habergham, Spokes, Scannell or Hanson to start

Hopefully Wright might be able to start. That would help.

I also think we need to split the Waterfall/Pollock CB pairing. I would put Hewitt in there.

I would start with Gibson up front. Maybe Jackson too.

                             Russell

Hendrie    Waterfall     Hewitt      Habergham

     Morais        Rose     Bennett      Wright

                      Jackson    Gibson

Centre midfield is such a problem. Maybe Clifton or Spokes in for Rose.

Scannell would be an advantage were he to be fit.

Obviously a more attacking formation with both Wright and Morais, but frankly I don't think we have the players to pull off a defensive minded approach. We may as well go for it. But it still looks a pretty lightweight line up. We just don't have the right players right now.

Regrettably, I'm forced to agree. If we could get that team fit and keep it fit think we might have enough. Hanson has the qualities to exploit Morais' crossing and Scannell's likewise. I remain convinced that if our survival hopes rest of either of them staying fit we might as well book train tickets to Weymouth.

But surely he can't pick Green this week. So it's Preston, Hewitt, Gibson and Clifton. Triffic

Assuming no incoming;

                           Macca
Hendrie     Waterfall      Hewitt      Habergham
    Morais       Spokes      Clifton       Wright
                      Gibson    Jackson

Scanell could replace Wright?
Rose instead of Clifton?
I'd put Mattie on the bench, as think he needs a rest / clear his head
Preston on for Habergham if he cant last
Not sure if Bennet could / should start, "nice" touches but goes in circles

Bennett as a 10. Given the injury to Clifton or I'd have him in for Rose. Can't see Scanell or Hanson being ready.

If you can get away with it it looks pretty good - especially if the ref. can't count.

Think the time has come to be brave. Starting with 2 up top, 2 natural wingers and Habergham at LB

                            McKeown

Hendrie     Waterfall    Pollock    Habergham

     Morais       Hewitt    Rose        Wright

              Jackson Jnr       Hanson

Introducing Gibson for Hanson at 60 minutes as he will be short of fitness. Also gonna be a bit blood and thunder i feel so not the right sort of game for Bennett

Jackson has to play, he’s the only striker that can finish in the team.
What I have seen of him I rate him and if they can find another forward that can hold it up and link up with him he could be great.
Obviously would need service and that’s our biggest problem.

As we only create an odd chance every game I’d rather have him there to try and convert cos let’s face it the other strikers strike the ball like akpa apro

With a win desperately  needed,   I cannot believe we have not managed to get anybody new in.   What is the problem ? Others near us in the league have  managed it. It can't be just location.  I'm now seriously  concerned  for Town.    A miracle  please.

We all feel that way now but a good result tomorow or some good signings over the next couple of weeks and we'll all be over optimistic instead

for christs sake garth, what on earth makes you think that just repeating the same thing time after time is going to produce any different result ?
at least jackson, wright, spokes and gibson would give us a bit of energy & confidence

Bennett is not a central midfielder, nor has he looked much of a winger, especially in front of an inexperienced fullback. Maybe he'd be more effective in front of Habergham, I'm sure we'll find out soon. For me, he is best utilised as an inside forward or centrally in a 4-2-3-1 or the head of a midfield diamond. He's looked our best player when put more centrally.

This was the team I was thinking too. Last week, Wright looked really good when he came on and drove into their box a few times - which was when I realised that we haven’t seen a player do that in weeks. Everything we do is outside the box so Max could be really important today. Only change I might make is Jackson for Gibson courtesy of the fact he’s the only one can score, and Gibson rivals Hannah for offsides.

For me, he is best utilised sitting in the stand!

I've wasted my life in black and white, a pathetic act for a worthless cause

Given Hursty has said that we are too easy to play against, I very much doubt he'd play that lineup in midfield - looks weak as urine
