Absolutely the wrong time to have a look at Spokes. Morton not a centre mid. Ludicrous playing out from the back at goal kicks when Harrogate were pressing so well. Too early to sub Bennet when Spokes was looking lost. Bad decisions all around the pitch and in the dug out! Gibson has promise but he has to retain possession better. Hendrie sluggish and dithery. Did Harrogate have longer studs or simply play the conditions so much better? Still lacking leaders especially in midfield. Losing Edwards was a real blow.

Shocking performance. Spokes no where near ready for league football, Morton a little better but needs some experience alongside. Think that was a game too far for Preston/Clifton and especially Hendrie just weren't on their game. Gibson needs balls he has a chance of chasing but always too long. Gomis looked ok when he came on. Waterfall/Pollock did a decent job, Tilley looked bright. We were too lightweight (literally) and inexperienced. Ollie must get a core of 7 experienced players and pick the kids to play around them. Harrogate didn't need to make 5/6 changes and they just played Tues/Sat/Tues

Got the bench wrong didn't he? No centre mid on there where we most needed to change it. Surely Rose, Williams or Taylor were fit enough to be a sub. I know Bennett has a good pedigree and I'm sure he will be a decent player for us in time but he looked like a competition winner tonight.

Some really good points there. Spokes looked really  out of his depth in his only previous start and I had assumed he would be a 'body' - making up the numbers on the sub bench when required and only used if necessary or  when a game was effectively over to get some experience. At least for the first few months anyway. Poor decision to start him in a midfield 2, with another at best ordinary player, against a clearly very well drilled team that's going well. Bad decision that backfired badly. But worryingly a really obviously bad decision.

Thought the major problem with our team was the spine. Macca had a mare, don't see why Pollock is getting a pass, he was garbage tonight (got the wrong side of the defender too many times) Spokes, Morton and Bennett were dire and Gibson looks like a National League North striker. Hendrie had a stinker too.

I actually can't remember a pass that wasn't misplaced. Waterfall and Tilley were good and Gomis looked fairly lively when he came on.

Anyone know what's happened to Scannell?

Hear a lot about our fitness levels but our back 5 plus Clifton played pretty much the last 4 games, whilst Scannell and Moshni who have now been with us for best part of two months are still not fit enough to start, or appear on the bench in Scannell’s case, which I find a bit mystifying.

Agree that this midfield was out of its depth and should have been tried in the Cup game v Hull not a L2 game v a side Holloway spoke of in glowing terms pre match. Gibson should play alongside either Hanson or Windsor to get the best out of him and not having either Williams or Windsor on the bench was strange and a bit naive for a Manager of Holloway’s experience.

Stated before I don’t expect the “real town” to be sorted until mid November but thought tonight’s selections didn’t help our cause but maybe IH just needed to see how some of the young players performed without having their hands held, well he knows now so onward to Saturday and maybe a much better performance and result.

Well just listened to the post match interview and whilst the team was selected yesterday it was pretty evident because of the personal tragedy that IH had suffered, through his best mate’s suicide, he was probably not at the races during the game. Suicide is always such a shock and even more so when it’s a close mate so Ollie may need a bit of leeway from us all this week.

Agreed and it was against the same opposition!

Just listened to Ollie's interview after the game... sounds like he needs a few days off, poor bloke.

Everyone needs time to grieve. He may want to keep going, and focus on football to get him through this difficult time, knowing the sort of bloke he is.

I'm sure the club would offer him a bit of time to deal with his awful news.
