I also enjoyed The Report and would also give it 8/10.

Film in a similar vein is Dark Waters about the dangers of Teflon and the cover up by Du Pont.

Always enjoy Mark Ruffalo and the rest of the cast are good too. Another 8/10

Thanks for the recommendation.

Btw Storyville did a documentary on the Teflon scandal which was excellent.
May appear on BBC4 in the future.

Quite a gory one but worth a watch none the less. Hostel 3 (2011).Ive seen the previous two and there not bad. About tourists who are taken hostage and tortured.Think its glamorised but loosely based on reality.Another thing  Quentin Tarantino had some part in directing the film who is one of my favourite directors.

6/10

I don’t want to come across like a film snob but fear I may when I say I am not interested one bit. I turned off the first as torture porn is not for me. That being said I am also a big girls blouse and have no stomach for it, I’m the same for horror.

Fair enough .Iam not really a big fan of the horror genre either but some I watch if the synopsis looks interesting or there done by a certain director.

Me too! I don’t like horror movies and never have, I saw Halloween when I was a kid and that terrified me, I had to sleep with the lights on and check under the bed that night 😉, I just don’t get seeing people getting hacked up as entertainment (maybe I’m big girls blouse deep down)  seriously though give me a good comedy any day of the week.

The Report

Idealistic Senate staffer Daniel J. Jones, tasked by his boss to lead an investigation into the CIA's post 9/11 Detention and Interrogation Program, uncovers shocking secrets.

8/10

Really enjoyed this. Adam Driver was very good as per.

Second this about Adam Driver. I think he's an excellent actor. I really enjoyed him in Paterson, a low key but lovely and quirky little indie film.

I've gone off horror massively in the last 10 years or so. I find most modern films to rely too much on the graphic gore rather than building tension like the original Halloween. I did enjoy the first Saw film but there was no need for the 20 sequels and prequels.

Good call on Tarantino though. I adore Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction. Hated Inglorious illegitimates mind, it just really bored me. Thought Once Upon Time In Hollywood was an awesome return to form though, with it loosely being based around the Manson family I wasn't looking forward to the end so was pleasantly surprised that he turned the facts of what happened on it's head.

I quite liked Inglorious b*stards .Bit violent though  . The films that really struck me as unusual but good was kill Bill Volume 1 and then 2 without realising that Tarantino had directed it till after the film had finished. I thought the soundtrack to the 2nd film was decent as well.

I forget that Tarantino directed the Kill Bill films. I agree though, a fantastic pair of films. It was probably post Kill Bill when I went off him, 3 hourish films are all good as long as they keep me engaged but I just found Inglorious illegitimates, Hateful 8 and even maybe Django too long, a bit boring and over indulgent. But like anything, it's horses for courses.

I don’t mind violence in context (Just not when it’s the explicit aim of the film to be gratuitously violent) and I count Tarantino as 1 of my favourite filmmakers. I loved inglorious basterds, pulp fiction and reservoir dogs, in fact barring death proof I like all his work. The guy is a lunatic but a genius.
