Quoted from promotion plaice

Pat Glover.....196 goals in 245 games for Town between 1929 and 1939.

Jackie Bestall..... Wiki:  "perhaps the greatest name on Town's roll-call – a diminutive craftsman full of guile and possessed of outstanding constructive qualities"

Great shout, can I copy your homework

To add;

Lev Yashin
Pele
Johan Cruyff
Alfredo Di Stéfano
Ferenc Puskás
Hector Castro (a bit of an odd one but his story alone is interesting)
George Best
Eusébio

Basically all the greats.

Supporting the Mighty Mariners for over 30 years, home town club is were the heart and soul is and it's great to be a part of it.

Jesus’ disciple Peter, picked up a fish to get the tribute money from it, Jesus left his thumb print on the fish, bless'ed is the Haddock.

To witness with my own eyes in the stadium I’d say Maradona, THE ronaldo, maldini, Glover, Tees, Ancelotti, Cryuff...

Good list. What made you pick Ancelotti? Were you swayed by his eyebrows? I’m not knocking it by the way, he was very good, but I was a couple of years too young to see him at his best.

I have a question.

Ronaldo il Fenomeno was the last footballer I saw on TV (apart from perhaps Ronaldinho) who would genuinely have you sitting on the edge of your seat. He was virtually unplayable in a period of better quality defenders.

But was this because I was in my mid-teens then and more impressionable? I can admire Messi and C.Ronaldo’s brilliance but they are almost mechanical in their output.

My dad. He was offered a contract by the great Bill Shankly, but as he had just started a new job, Bill had to ask permission from my Dad's boss to see if he would let him play on a Saturday. He flatly refused.

Turns out his boss was a staunch Scunny supporter!

Bobby Charlton.

To get that many goals for club and country from midfield, never fails to astound me.  Don't feel he ever gets the accolades and recognition he deserves.

Duncan Edwards (Bobby Charlton said that he would have captained England in winning the World Cup).

Saw Best play in 1970 at Brummie.  My dad took me out of school to see him at a FAC semi-final replay at Villa Park.
