Quoted from Mariner_501

Saw Michael Reddy after a game in Sainsbury’s in Welholme Road in 2005. As a young lad I was too nervous to talk to him, he noticed me and smiled and said hello, which was nice.

Reddy is 40 today, which makes me feel very old!

Patrick Viera on a flight back from Joburg during the World Cup 2010. France had just been knocked out. Just 6 years prior he had been an invincible. After a little goading karma struck back a week later against Ze Germans. (If only we had VAR back then)

Distant relative to Pat Jennings - only gent I’ve ever seen at a bar that can pick up 4 pints across the outside rim with one hand.

Gazza in Muscat about two years ago. Absolute legend. Would have single handedly out drank and outplayed Mike Newell’s team. Some of his stories were off the richter.

David Sullivan of West Ham and Porn fame at Newmarket races about 30 years ago when I was about 13 with my mum and dad . He had amazingly fit tall “girlfriend” who I remember staring at for too long , probably with my tongue hanging out .

David Platt told me to F Off in the Lizard Lounge in Nottingham. I wanted to drunkenly talk about how great Jack Lester would do for Forrest but he was more interested in the two beautiful girls he was sat with. Weirdo.

I got blanked by Bernard Hill. He stopped and asked the way to Tescos, I said 'good Morning Yosser' and gave him directions and he just drove off without a thank you. Can't understand it, if it wasn't for Yosser Hughes nobody would have heard of him!

Played footy at school with Glenn Cockerill.

Did some joinery and fitted a kitchen for Paul Bartlett.

Had a kick about with Kevin Keegan and an unknown Scunny player who was dating a girl in the next street to my Ma. They came down the back alley where we often played as kids.

Spent a night in a small club in Wales with most of the West Indies cricket team who were playing warm up games before the test matches. They drank loads and danced non stop. Joel Garner was huge.

Stood in a queue in a cake shop in Pickering with Leonard Parkin who was filming there.

Met Alexander Armstrong at a Lifeboat charity day in Craster, a little seaside place in Northumberland. He was born nearby apparently.

Saw Lofty from Eastenders in St Davids Cathedral.

Sat behind Steve Gibbons of Tulane fame at a Springsteen gig at the NEC.

Captain Sensible asked me to buy him a pint at the Winter Gardens when the Damned played there.

Had a chat with Lee Brilleaux of Dr Feelgood in Willys before their gig at the Gardens.

My Dad met Prince Charles when he visited Grimsby. We have a photo of them together.

I have met Princess Anne twice and she is fantastic.
Unfortunately met Prince (semi retired) Andrew once.  That was back in the 90's and he was a total girl private then.
Two people from the same family, but absolute opposites !!!

Was part of a Guard of Honour for Princess Di.  But had my usual luck with women, she just walked straight past.

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'

When I went to see Flaming Lips at Jodrell Bank I saw Caine from Emmerdale Farm, Bonehead out of Oasis with his huge family and the Mrs pointed out a scruffy looking fella with some things in a plastic ASDA bag walking about, it was Mercury Award winner Badly Drawn Boy.

Used to see Mani all the time at gigs in Manchester.

Seen Paul Heaton riding his bike a few times.
