Get Brexit Done though, innit.

Let's sweep everything that really matters under the carpet and pander to the county's greatest anxieties, perpetuated by the media — who, by pure coincidence, are owned by mega rich people who manipulate the political landscape for their own personal financial gain.

You never say never, but I doubt very much that a new stadium will be built in the next five years and I also very much doubt the stated amount of new homes will be built in Grimsby either.

Politics is full of promise. We're sold dreams, not reality. It's all shirt and no trousers. There's very little left to trust in this world.

At least football is an escape from all that... except it's not, because the game is being dictated by the rich — those above politics. It's their play-thing. It's not the working class game it once was. It's created a league system in which Town can't thrive unless we have a new stadium that promises income more than once every other Saturday.

And who has the biggest say on whether we get that? The loop is complete. We're hamsters in a wheel.

Dry yer eyes mate. 😪 You lost. Live with it. Or you can always go to another country if you don’t like the way ours is going.

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'

And I very much doubt that will ever happen, talk is cheap.

It definately is......it's currently on hold due to wildlife studies that have shown the new rock groin they built at Wonderland has become a roosting haven so the Palm Tree will have to be moved further down the prom

Anything to do with the amount of foreigners being allowed into the country?

Very unlikely - https://www.channel4.com/news/factcheck/high-immigration-nhs-crisis

All you have to do is listen to the languages being spoken in hospital and doctors waiting rooms to realise why our public services are so overwhelmed.

That’s not “all you have to do”, but if that’s all you choose to do then that’s your own issue...

Due to health issues in my immediate family, we've spent a good bit of time visiting the hospital in Scartho recently - A&E, out of hours, clinics.

Treatment received from a selection of Indian (possibly Pakistani - both Hindus and Muslims have been seen), Middle Eastern, Caribbean and African doctors and nurses as well as one Irishman. In fact, the vast majority of the doctors we've seen haven been British, though most of the nurses have been.

Some vital stuff being done by said immigrants, especially considering that the British doctors that we do train (not enough of them trained for the country's requirements, of course) don't want to work in N.E. Lincs.

And almost every person we've encountered in the waiting rooms has been British. Because there are very, very few immigrants in N.E. Lincs and young immigrants don't use the NHS as much as our aging British population. They do help pay for it, though.

We're in at the hospital again on Thursday for further treatment. My guess is that the surgeon will not be British. And I don't care one jot.

You're far far far more likely to be treated in a hospital by a HORRIBLE IMMIGRANT than stuck in a queue behind one in A&E

You're twisting my words to suit you. Read my post, I never said 'HORRIBLE IMMIGRANT'. If you are being treated by a foreign nurse, or a Doctor then you are illustrating the need and value of well controlled and sensible immigration. I think you know that already though, you just want to tar and feather me as it's suits your narrative.

So you consider being seen to in just under 4 hours for an emergency as being a decent waiting time? Just because it takes 10 minutes longer to see people now doesn't change the fact that the waiting times have been long for a long time.

4 Hour Waiting times are a joke and absolutely no way an indicator of good care.  If you're going to breach the 4 hour waiting time, it's highly likely you'll be moved through the system to start the clock somewhere else.  Minimal amount of diagnosis or treatment given.  Equally so the name gives the biggest clue.  Accident and Emergency.  If it's a genuine emergency, 4 hours is about 3 hours 59 minutes too long to wait.  If you walk into A&E with your head hanging off or if you've stubbed a toe, you're judged on the same 4 hour waiting list.

What that chart shows is the correlation between the increased attendances and the increased 4 hour breaches.  That's not rocket science to expect that increased demand will impact on any performance, regardless of the quality they offer.  Equally so to doesn't take a brain surgeon to work out that in an aging population comes more comorbidities.  At this point you would expect the highly educated Government advisors to work out that if you're faced with increased pressure on an already creaking system you really need to invest in it.  You would hope that the last thing they would do is effectively reduce funding, make it harder to recruit clinical staff and maintain daft performance measures.

Of course a cynic would say that it's deliberately sabotaging a system so you can privatise it to your mates for a song....

Don't get me wrong, the system needs fixing.  It isn't working because it's predominantly a 1948 system trying to cope with 2020 life.  But the system will never work for 2020, 2025, 2040....as long as consecutive Governments completely underfund it, don't understand it and make clinical care an unattractive career choice.

My health, your health, everyone's health is no longer dealt with just in the confines of a hospital.  A&E Departments across the country are backed up because they can't admit patients and are having people rocking up with daft things that could have been dealt with at home.  The social care system is broken and very little has been done to sort it.

This isn't about Labour or Tory, Red or Blue.  It's about the health of every single person in this country.  Consecutive Governments have neglected the whole health and social care arena and should hang their heads in shame.

A & E is visited by many people because GP waiting lists can be over a week, doctors are unlikely to visit patients out of hours, and walk-in clinics are too expensive to run.

Nobody wants to have to wait for 4 - 6 hours with screaming kids there.  Well, apart from the homeless.  For most people there are very few or no other options.

Most doctors do a telephone triage these days to see If you need to see a doctor on that day or could wait. If you get told you don’t need to and you still turn up at A&E anyway you should be charged the total amount for your treatment.
