A certain proportion of the population (regardless of age and health) have a serious immune response to this virus which makes them critically ill with severe pneumonia. This is why, for example, the young, healthy Chinese doctor credited publicising this disease, despite pressure from the authorities, died.

Most people will be OK. Some won't.

Note that in Italy, mortality rate is over 3%, which is a good bit higher than China. Many times more deadly than regular flu. The problem is that the countries in the far east are prepared for this sort of a disease following the SARS outbreak. They have the specialist beds and equipment used to treat the most severe cases. We don't. If there is an epidemic, as seems likely, we simply don't have the specialist beds, equipment and training to save those who fall most seriously ill. It's a serious concern and it wouldn't surprise me if things progress so quickly this week that the Carlisle game is cancelled. Good luck to us all.

Yes, there is a conspiracy around this and it's to do with the level at which certain labs are rated at with Bio Safety Levels (BSL). Allegedly a corona virus was weaponized in a level 4 lab in Australia and then ended up in a level 3 lab in Wuhan.

This current outbreak was written about in one of Dean Koonz books 'The eyes of darkness'

Even as conspiracy theories go, that's a pretty flipping stupid one. Why would Australia share a weaponised virus with China (even if they created one?). They aren't allies and you don't tend to hand around chemical and biological weapons to other countries for fun.

Isn't the source of this disease more to do with the wild animal trade in China?

Whose to say it was shared, where there is money to be made and who knows what goes on with the world of elites. Sadam was funded by the Yanks when they were up against Iran, and Sadam used chemical weapons on the marsh arabs.

Let me make a conspiracy theory off the cuff, take what China is doing with a certain religious group and the problems Australia were having with a certain religious group. After China has re-educated the Uighurs, and after Australia's help in weaponising CV19, China send thousands of re-educated Uighurs to spread that re-education in Australia and neutralise a potential threat in Australia. Is this likely to have happened no, is there potential for it, yes there is.
