I love it when little old Grimsby play these massive clubs like Chelsea, Crystal Palace and Colchester especially when we get a result like last night.

He said 'team' not 'club' and seeing as they were 13 places above us and at home, I'm not sure what the fuss is about!

Interesting comment by a reader on last nights match in the Colchester Local paper.
A warning of the perils of lower league clubs moving to isolated out-of-town stadiums.

"Shame about the result but can't say nobody saw it coming. First game attended in a little while and have to say very disappointed with the attendance but no shuttle buses and very few local buses means it is very hard for fans to get to games in the evening. Noticed the stadium looks very tatty, faded seats and empty/faded and damaged advertising boards makes the stadium a bit of a depressing place for saying it's a new ground."

We had nearly 10% of the crowd.  Our fans travelling much further of course.

I am sure their manager is very annoyed losing at home to a team much lower in the league.  Especially being so outstanding 3 days before in thrashing the 3rd team.

The EFL highlights programme last Sat said that their first half, and 3 goals, was the best performance by any Div 2 team this season.

Our win shows the high level of achievement.  Another reason might be comments from their fans that some of their players don’t like getting stuck-in on cold, windy nights.  (Our Prem-based players had no issue here).

Typical manager rhetoric to deflect from the reality...of which was his team seemingly believe the job was done at 2-1 and we’d just lay down and take it. On the contrary, we raised our game and looked very much like the team in fifth...

Half an hour walk to/from the train station, if I can get there from London after finishing work at 5pm then they can get there from Colchester surely?

goes to show the out of Town grounds aren’t all that , To be fair though I can’t evrr remember Colchester getting crowds any better st their old ground .
if the Freeman street ground goes ahead then it’ll be within walking distance for 1000s and have loads of pubs cafes and shops ect next to it .

I didn't read it as deflection, quite the opposite, I read it as he was saying the same as you.
