Don't think gates have been boosted that much for that long just yet; we were probably down on projected income when we sunk to our lowest league attendances in many many a year under Limbrick and Exeter and since has evened things up a little. It's only been a couple of games though!

I think i read on the OS that town get 5% of all gate receipts or our tickets sold for away games also which considering the amount we took to Mansfield and have sold for Bradford would be adding to the finances. Would definitely have not taken 2,700 to Bradford with Jolley still at the reigns

I think you’re right Aldi and Rik. We only started getting good support numbers away from about 2014 at regular fixtures. I first noticed the improved atmosphere at a Barnet midweek game (Probably happened earlier but I don’t make the northern games) and the numbers seemed to start to rise round about then. I think youngsters started to enjoy themselves and away trips became fun again and that spread to all age groups.

Gates for a team in Town`s position with their record are bloody brilliant and I would think today will see around 4.5-5k home fans that`s a very good base to build from. No reason Town can`t pull in 6-7k at home whilst were at BP if the team start winning there is a real buzz about the Town since IH came in and personally I don't recall anything like this since Ivano.

I was at Wolves when Micky Boukding scored in a smash and grab and mostly anything over 2 hours away there was pretty much a faithful 350 unless slightly boosted by London Mariners if we encroached on the capital.
I've had people on here saying I'm talking nonsense but in discussion with my friends who travelled the length and breadth of the country with me they all in agreement.
We were roundly mocked everywhere "Is that all you bring away? " and were vastly outnumbered at such cauldrons as Molineuex, St. Andrews and the Victoria Ground.
All in 'the Championship' (Division 1). So our away support now is absolutely amazing and we'd either sell out those fixtures in a flash or take at least 1,500!
Ollie says its at home we need extra support (to boost our coffers) as he's probably been made aware that despite this galvanised away support phenomenon the home attendances have always stayed pretty much much of a muchness only altering slightly with upturns and downturns of form generally.
We need a Bonetti type occurrence to really see people pour in through the turnstiles, hopefully once Ollie got everything in place his attack-minded sides on a great run of form can encourage this. As the shithole that is BP does alot to discourage...
Anyway on to Fenty, just before Holloway was appointed when talking about putting faith in Limbrick, Fenty said he realised that our squad needed a little help so he would be buying up £200k in shares so that we could 'get one, two maybe three' players in to help the cause.
He later added that Ollie's £100k will become available for players prior to the start of next season but yes, he would still be buying up the 200k in shares he promised for this one.
Not Boulding, Andy Todd.

Oh right my memory is hazy compared to how clinically some remember things, yes just been confirmed to me. Seem to remember Quick Mick smashing in against em somewhere, maybe a home win? But in any case each time there our support wasn't great.
Yes Kingston remember all these vast swathes of youths all dressed in their smart casual gear suddenly attending around the time you say and having the time of their life singing their hearts out. It didn't seem to matter the dreadful surroundings or the lowly the division meaning the quality of fayre on offer much lower than us oldies were used to. -For these boys it all they had ever known since kids and I think the fact we were perennial big boys of the Conference challenging near the top helped with their party vibe.
I remember remarking to friends 'It seems to be cool to support Grimsby again'. And as you say their 'jovialness' and constant singing quickly spread across the whole away end and then probably reports of all this hot back home encouraging even more to come join in the party.
Of course the club did everything in its power to destroy all the positivity built with the Slade years and all the rest of it built since promoted but hopefully with Ollie the barmy away legions back to stay again.
Just a shame we never been able to translate the true 'day out at the football' experience to BP. Been a struggle ever since the stadium went all seater.
